No. Just a fictional book, like Peter Pan or Clifford the Big Red Dog - except longer and not as interesting.

The bible comes in many editions with some things added and some deleted, not to mention versions approved by succ and such (I don`t mean the advertising mob Sache an` sache, though that would be interesting). Split into two parts the old testament details the story of times and tribulations of a people. You may notice it chronicals the begining of time and the liberation of those suprresed by those more powerful. Wether or not you take this as factual is down to the indavidual in my book. You will find countless stories world wide detailing the journies of many from the begining of time. Many of these are deep rooted within the myths and legends of those we call the ancients and many have detailed accounts of encounters with those of a spiritual nature. In the new testament we discover a new message, one not with a message of the past but a message for the time. We hear the word of god as others understand it, we hear what others believe it to be. I say this because there are still many writings that have been omitted and hidden simply because they do not agree with the views of the scholars who have brought us the new testament. Yes, the word of god is there contained within the new testament for those who want to search for it. It is written for those who wish seek for the truth and understanding. On the face of it though it is mainly the word brought to us through those who have their own understanding. You may study the path of others and learn of their journy but the true path is deep within, the key is there to unlock the mystery if you are able.

It is not. Inspired by man with the thought of God, Yes. The bible is also nothing more than a rehash of previous religions, mostly Pagan. Every miracle perform by Jesus had existed in many other religions, especially from Egypt. Jesus is the personification of the Sun, just like Horus, Hercules, Osiris, and so on. There has always been a retelling of a crucified savior for as far back as we can go. Genesis and Egyptian creation stories are in some places word for word the same. Names get changed as time passes, stories get altered, things get forgotten, but its still follows the same story of the Sun (God's Sun as the ancients called it) which passes through the 12 zodiac constellations (12 disciples). This was important so crops could be grown and harvested. Go read up a bit, see that every Christian celebrated holiday was originally Pagan and existed prior to Christianity...even the Saints days. This is why Christians worship on SUNday and is why Jesus is called "the light of the world, that every eye can see".......

The Bible is not a singular thing. It is a composite made of constituent parts. There are several documents potentially part of the Bible. Which documents ought to be included is a matter of debate. There are differing views about what passages belong in the individual documents.
I am not sure what it means for these documents to be the word of God. What criteria would you use to answer yes or no?
They do not appear to me to be of much use in describing the universe as we understand it.
They are, to put it kindly, very uneven in their usefulness as a guide to life.
I rather enjoy reading the various documents that potentially make up the Bible. But I do not find the God portrayed consistently in them, and I am not sure I find the God portrayed in them much of a moral authority.
Although interesting, I just do not find the Bible that useful.

No, and I am quite certain. There are too many inconsistencies in it, too much hate and violence and justification for doing bad things to be from God. I think it chronicles the events around the life of Jesus, but it also has a lot of added stuff that he never said. Additionally, it is a well known established fact that the Bible we have today is missing a lot as well. Look up emperor constantine bible on google and prepare to be shocked if you have not learned this stuff in school. The Bible was rewritten, edited, and then voted to be the word of god by a pagan emperor with his own agenda. Please read the attached info. And feel free to cross reference and research. This has been well known fact for centuries, but nobody likes to talk about it because it rocks the boat.

No, it's the word of some storytellers from a long time ago, and not very good ones either. If someone wrote that same book today they'd get laughed at and made a fool but because it was written a long time ago it's supposed to be the word of God. What crap!
I want to know why God hasn't written any new chapters in two thousand years. Like nothings happened in this world since Christ died.

Yes, I am absolutely sure because no other book has changed my life, my outlook, my attitude, my perspective on existance, my hopes, my purpose and my heart like the bible has. I don't just believe that it is Gods Word, but I have come to the point where I know it is Gods' word for mankind !
Hebrews 4:12, For the Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing through to the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Yes the bible is very long though, when I was little I told my mom that I was going to read the whole thing. I got to the 2 page and stopped.... that's why at the end of readings in Christan churches they say the word of God I am sure I have gone to church since I was 6 months
How can you not believe in God? It's like how do u think everything was made?? Really there is no other way. How about miracles those are signs from God.... God is so totally real

i think Jesus Christ is the Word of God. The Bible is the written down accounts people who knew Jesus through experience. It is also written accounts of His sermons. In other words, it was written by God-intoxicated human beings.. no im not sure. . but I really think so. because the way people wrote suggested that they really and truly knew Jesus.

No and yes. A god that would put the time, effort, and design into the universe as we know it, would not be so shoddy at making his word infallible. It would be consistent and make sense for all times, rather than advocating slavery etc. Events that happened would have evidence and stories that were allegorical for how he actually did something would match i.e. creation.

Yes and no. The original schroles, yes but the bible as it exists today, no. The bible was translated into laten by catholic monks who rewrote it to say what they wanted it to say. They have the original schroles buried in there Vatican but they wont allow anyone to read them. They say that everyday people aren't fit to look upon them.
The bible is nothing but a fairy tale that is designed to control people and keep them in submission.
