i got a bill from the hospital and it was due today, they sent me a note saying they will notisfy debt collection agency. what does that mean, will the agency arrest me or something? any body with good idea?

Is this the first notice that you have an outstanding bill? Did you contact the hospital and make some payment arrangements. Hospitals will usually give you 3 months to pay the bill off. Of course, if the hospital has been sending you bills for some time, they are probably not going to be so willing to take payments over a 3 month period.

When the bill gets turned over to collections, you might get more fees added. The collector will call and try to collect. He may even take you to court and get a judgment. Then he can attached your bank account, garnish your wages, or lien your property.

no they will not arrest you---but they will make your credit bad.
a debt collection agency's goal is to collect the money you own the hospital. they can garnish your wages, take your bank account or any other assets you may have.....they will also call you day and night until you pay.
