Friday i was sitting in my room and my 5 mounth old papillion puppy came sprinting in my room with my cat close behind my cat pined her down and got in a huge fight! He bit her neck and gave her 2 deep punctour wounds and scrathed the side of her stomach really bad. She bled forever and i took her to the vet the vet said shell be okay gave me some medicine and bandaged her up i dont know what to do with the cat? Should i give him up to a home? Keep him and be worried for the rest of my puppies lives? Keep him in the backporch? (its screened in and all my cats love it out there because their inside cats and they like it out there. Our papilons are our babies! My family acuses me of likeing them more than i like them lol i was so scared and so upset i didnt know what to do! shes in so much pain now. After the incedint my brother hit my cat (No im not mean! he need to be punished) anyway what should i do?

A cat will retaliate if it's pushed to the limit, and puppies can't read cat body language so there's a potential for misunderstanding right there.

The cat only wants space, he had to have been REALLY put out to chase the dog down. Possibly the puppy bit at him?

You can control the actions of the puppy around cats, with training. I think that the puppy did learn that not all cats are chew toys and there to be barked at and harrassed.

Dog gates are a good idea. Cats can get out of the area over them, but the dogs can't get at the cats on the other side of the gate. It's a good idea to see just WHAT the puppies are trying to do to the cats, and realize that not all cats are tolerant of being slobered on or jumped at by dogs.

did the dogs annoy cat at some point you never saw,so when cat see dog it prob thought i get him before he chases me.dogs annoy cats chasing them ,barking,as puppy little it might have startled cat as it was fast.dont smack the cat its defending itself,and wont know what its done,could you give the dogs more attension,cat jealous
