It will probably still work for grilled cheese sandwiches. Or make croutons out of it to enjoy in tomato soup or on salads. Or make a rye bread pudding.

I made some great pork chops with stale rye bread. Butter a 13x9 glass casserole dish. In a big bowl, crumble or place cut bread cubes. You can add bagged stuffing if you have it. In a frying pan melt 1/2 stick of butter, fry a big onion and chopped celery until softened. Add parsley, poultry seasoning and black pepper. Mix into bread. Add 3 eggs and enough milk to moisten. Pile half into the casserole, place pork chops on and pile the rest of the stuffing around them (they don't have to be covered) bake until done, cover with foil if they start to brown too much before the stuffing is nice and toasty.

How about reviving it???
"Leftover bread doesn't have to be made into bread crumbs. Yesterday's muffins, bagels or walnut-cranberry semolina loaf can all be revived easily. Bread that is rock hard, though, cannot be saved by this method."
Check out the source link below. Hope this helps!

You can use it in making a meatloaf to hold it together or make french toast. It will soften when you dip it in egg mixture. Feed it to the birds or leave it out for the squirrels if you don't want it but don't throw it out.

You can cut it up, put in your food processor and make bread crumbs, that would be great mixed in with regular breadcrumbs.
I do this with all my old bread and buns, put some seasoning in there. I keep a bag in the freezer and take it out, let come to room temp and use on chicken and such
