I might be going to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this week. If I am, where is okay to eat? and where is not?
If we go we will probably stay at the Westin, so preferably close to there.
Also, know anything about the Westin Puerto Vallarta? Is it very close (walking distance) to the cruise ships? I have a friend who will be on a Mexican Riveria cruise this week so I was wondering if I'd be able to see her.
You don't have to answer all of these just please help me out a little bit!
Thanks a bunch! I hope I get some answers

ok, the cruise ships are right by Starbucks, and Walmart....you can see them. Anywhere in Vallarta is pretty close to the cruise ships.

as for food, i really LOVE the cuban restaurant on the "main strip," and the mojitos are fabulous. in addition, the little italian place on the same strip is very good and authentic, as the man is actually italian. i also loved las palomas...down at the end of old vallarta, on the beach. we had a romantic dinner with feet in the sand...it was great!

i really liked all of the restaurants i ate at in vallarta. maybe the only acception would be the places with plastic chairs and drink specials on the beach. those places are great for a beer special....but the food is basic and overprices, and nasty as well.

as far as safety, i wouldn't worry about it. it's important to keep a good reputation and all of the restaurants try hard to keep things clean and safe to eat.

I was in PV last year (cruise) and we had lunch at what I can only read the sign as GTOA, mexican fare. It is at the malecon area, the touristy walk along the water. It was just a short cab ride away from the cruise port (and Walmart!). Everything we had was SO good, so I am happy to recommend it. One drink I loved and had everywhere, every time was the naranjada- OJ with spritzer. Not fancy and not alcoholic, but good!

in case you desire to work out a tremendously sunset and in a quite fancy place pass to the El landscape eating place. while your down alongside the boardwalk you will see the development the taller one a pair of million/2 strategies up the hill... I stayed at hotel Rosita. no longer so great however the human beings have been valuable and alter into water front. there are various little eating places to be taught out everywhere...
