i have a prescription for contacts but does it have to be exactly the ones the eye doc prescribed? because the other day i went to americas best and the girl working the front told me that the doc already put the brand as softmed. but i told her i used acuvue oaysis and she started arguing with me that i use sofmed. and itold her that im wearing acuvue oyasis in my eye RIGHT NOW!! I got it from them.. and she kept saying i used softmed. so she wrote my prescription down as softmed. this really irked me. so, would i have to use only that brand for that prescription?

Your doctor's prescription includes the brand name, so your doctor wrote it wrong. The girl is required BY LAW to follow your doctor's written prescription, including the brand. She wasn't wrong. Your doctor was. Call the office first thing Monday morning and have him call in your prescription so you don't have to go all the way there to get it in writing.

Contact your eye doctor and have him or her rewrite the prescription. Is it possible that America's Best no longer carries the brand you are looking for?

Only your eye doctor can determine which ones you need and that should be written on the prescription.

I would call the doctor and have HIM deal DIRECTLY with America's Best.
