Unless your puppy is getting really dirty on a regular basis, you don't need to bathe him too much. A bath once a month or so, or inbetween if hes' been rolling in something unpleasant, is more than enough.

Always use a gentle shampoo, oatmeal shampoos are good as they help prevent the over-drying effect of a bath.

You can find lots of info. on bathing your puppy at the url below.

it depends. Since your dog is so young, I would be cautious about bathing him too often and when you do, please be careful not to get any water in his ears.
If your dog is prone to skin irritations or allergies, there is this wonderful stuff called Malosept (sp) that you can bathe your dog in weekly if there is a problem with itchy skin.
But since your dog is so young, I would err on the side of caution. Use a very gentle puppy shampoo and only bathe when absolutely necessary. An inside dog should not need a bath very often.

You can do it daily if you use a high quality dog shampoo. It will not rob them of their natural oils (old wives tale). Cheap shampoos could however cause some skin problems if you use them too often.
Both my long hair Border Collies work every day and I bath them about once a month unless they get into something stinky.

You don't have to bathe the puppy, just rinse it in the kitchen sink. Try not to get water in his ears and make sure the water is not to hot. If you can, have someone help you. During the project, give positive and calming reinforcement to your pet and then give them a treat after to make them start to like baths.

How much time does he spend outside? Is he an inside dog, too?

You can bathe him when he gets stinky as long as you use a quality moisturizing shampoo preferably one with oatmeal. I usually bathe my dogs every 2 weeks. I also use conditioner on their hair. I try not to get the conditioner on their bodies because they will get greasy faster. Use bath time to trim his nails, while his nails are wet and soft. Be sure to play with his feet as much as possible to get him accustomed to having his feet messed with because most dogs hate it when you mess with their feet.
Good Luck!

Once a week would be sufficient to bath your pet, just be sure to blowdry with a low heat setting.

i would say once or twice a month and if your dog gets dirty then just wipe them down with a wet clothe or special types of wipes for dogs

Once a month, any more often and it will rob their skin of its natural oils.
