Cystic fibrosis is one hereditary disease, one of the most common hereditary diseases, affecting one in every twenty-five thousand children.
Sickle cell anaemia is another hereditary disease, most common in African-Americans and caused red blood cells to be deformed.
A third disease is Tay-Sachs disease, a devestatingly lethal disease that renders infants deaf and blind and in enormous amounts of pain and discomfort for years before death. It primarily strikes in Jewish families.
Hemophilia is a fourth genetic disease. It causes very thin blood to be created, which means when a person afflicted is wounded, they bleed heavily.
