My question is...I have one television with cable and I was wondering if it would cost me anything if I hooked up another television with the same cable company? if it doesn't cost me anything...is it legal?

You can purchase the necessary coax to reach the other set, buy a two set splitter, bring the cable into the splitter, one run to your original TV and the second output to the second TV. BUT, if you are using a cable box and don't plan on purchasing another, then both sets will be watching the same channel selected on the cable box.

Drunken...

Indeed IT IS LEGAL---by FCC regulations, you can hook up as many tv's as you wish---as long as you are paying for the basic cable. trouble comes in when you are robbing the initial cable signal....but if you already have...it is yours to split.

purchase a splitter and hook the main cable into the one end, and into the other two outlets on the splitter ---will be your tv's.
you will also need to make sure you have a long enough cable -- you can purchase cable and splitters at radio shack or walmart or any electronics store (best buy etc).

I currently have a 3 way splitter and I use Cox Cable in San Diego. one cable signal in and 3 out....( two tv's and my computer on high speed cable).

good luck :)

As log as you save any files you were working on, you may shut down the computer, unplug it and relocate it without fear of losing data. You may want to take a look at each plug and it's outlet (on the computer) before you dismantle the wiring. Most computers have color-coded wire ends and "outlets" so that you can easily reassemble them. Take a picture if you need to. Just do your best not to drop or drag any part of the computer in the process. Most of them are fairly durable, but why chance it?
