PS3--
PS3 is $499 and the Xbox 360 Elite is $479. $20 dollar difference...

PS3 games produced are on Hd 50gig blueray (more space for better graphics without sacrificing game levels and game size..) GTA4 developers even stated that the game will have better graphics and gaming on the ps3 version and are having issues with the 360 version because of 8gig dvd game format... They may have to make the 360 version on multiple disc so if you like getting out of your chair alot while playing, .....

game developers are finding the 360 format to limiting and finding that they have to sacrifice game graphics or gaming levels and challenges...

Ps3 for the extra $20 you get a full HD entertainment system that also surfs the internet. You can goto any website and watch or download videos like YouTube...You can access your email and print it etcc...

Ps3 Blueray hd movie player that also upscales regular dvds movies to HD...It also upscales ps2 games to hd..

Ps3 comes with rechargeable controllers...

Ps3 comes with free online play and Wifi

All of the above the 360-elite can't do.
360 and elite -For hd movies you have to buy the hddvd player for $200. For

360 elite for quick charge kit you have to buy it for $20.

To play online the 360 charges $50 a year

THe elite and 360 requires Microsoft harddrives only- for a 20gig it's $100, for the 120 it's $189

360 -elite for wifi you have to pay an additional $100 and online gaming is $50 a year...And for that $50 a year to play online you also get stuck with third party in menu advertising...

To use 60% of what the 360 and elite can do you have to buy the addons and you'll spend over $750 before you even insert a game.

THe elite and new 360s hdmi, 65nm, red ring of death--Microsoft has no Idea what the cause is, You can't fix what you can't find. So yes they are all vulnerable.

Get the ps3 you can use it for so much more. We own all three. THe wii, elite and ps3

Well when it really reaches the bottom line it always depends on what games you like. But I'll break it down.
System price is nowadays very good, especially when you compare the features. Online is from my experience better on the PS3 because it's free, there are dedicated servers and all features you get from Xbox Live are there too (plus there is Playstation Home which is a huge plus) The features cannot be beaten on the PS3. You get BluRay, a HDD(which can be replaced by any 2.5 inch HDD you have), WiFi, free online, SIXAXIS controller with motion sensing, rumble and it's rechargeable)
The thing is, if you try to fit the Xbox 360 with all these features(external HD-DVD player, HDD, wifi, DVD-Remote,etc) you'll end up spending much more than the price of the PS3, that and the fact that the PS3 has the best CPU and GPU and BluRay for games will eventually give it the technology edge and the developers will be able to make the better games.

If the Ps3 would go down to $400, well I hope they have alot of money. The PS3 is on life support in the US. No good games are out. If MGS4 and KILLZONE 2 aren't good, the Ps3 might be the next dreamcast.The Online is not as robust as the 360's and the companies who have the servers can charge you at anytime. The graphics aren't even as good as the 360's. I donb't hear critics raving over its graphics at all. GearsOW has the best graphics tech wise and bioshock artwise.
The 360 is subject to go to lower prices if the 360 faces the 400 dollor PS3. The console has alot of good games right now, and more to come. It has the best Online ever, it lets you download movies and it all in a $350 package. HALO 3 will pwn Killzoe. So get a 360
Also who cares about the tech. Oh the PS3 has Deepcolor1.3 Hdmi. It will be a great reason why I think the Ps3 will sell a bigilion more consoles than the 360. And oh the 50 gig player, which will let Game makers spend millions more to make. Oh and my favorite, the 7 cell processor. This will definatnally raise the gaming experience 300% more. And also thr 80g of memory that will be used for no good reason because the onl;y thing good for itis cheap arcade ames and demos for games that had 1 hour replay value. AH!. Oh and killzone 2 will sell alot more, seeing its a ok game. And Mgs4 will make 5 million people buy s PS3. Is this going to happen. I think not!

to tell the truth Xbox360 because... 1) price its atleast 200 bucks less 2) games variety you have more games available in xbox than ps3 3) online playing yes by miles because even though ps3 may yet have to introduce online playing the largest online console playing is based on xbox! 4) graphics okay maybe ps3 wins this but only by a tiny bit 5)system features man that has to be given to xbox its been around longer so its more developed but ps3 is still a rookie so no got more things to say but it would become a bloody lecture so wotever and hope this helps! =D

well, right now, this is how the consoles are doing in the market-
1. wii
2. xbox 360
3. ps3

the wii and xbox 360 have sold over 10 million consoles each, while ps3 only sold about 4 million. the ps3 is too overpriced. well, there isn't a console wars since no console can win. if one console sells out the other, that doesn't mean it will get discontinued. it's not like VCR vs. BETAMAX or HD-DVD vs. Blu-ray where there can only be one winner.

so buy whichever one you like since all of them won't get discontinued for at least 2 more years. the xbox 360 has about 1-2 more years before it gets discontinued because it came out in 2005. ps3 has about 4 more years to go since it came out in 2006. I don't know about the wii, but it's the #1 seller since most people could afford it.

In the long range - PS3 will win the war. Xbox 360 and Wii are so weak from technological point of view, that in couple of years they won't be capable of dealing with serious graphics. GTA IV, for instance, isn't even announced for Wii - this toy won't be able to cope with this game requirements. Xbox 360 is getting GTA IV, however, the game is going to be released on several DVDs - Xbox 360 owners will have to interrupt gaming process and switch discs. Only PS3 will have it on single BD-DVD.

Graphics are stronger in PS3, due to RSX chip, that was developed by Nvidia exclusively for PS3. To estimate its power (roughly) - take 6800 Ultra nvidia graphics card, multiply it by 2 - get a result, still PS3 stronger, because 6800 Ultra runs on 400 Mhz and RSX runs on 550 Mhz.

PS3 has a chip from AGEIA company. It does to physics of the game same thing GPU (videocard processor) does to graphics. This card is on sale for PC. The price is around 350$.

Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of death" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 8 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it.

Besides all of this, I've seen disassembled Xbox 360 - regular PC architecture - Billy Gates is an uninventive nerd (as usual).
When I saw disassembled PS3 - it was a surprise - smart architecture, good cooling (don't buy external PS3 coolers - they make everything worse - original system is good), etc.
