It's only on my bottom front teeth. My gums hurt when I touch them (kinda like cold sores).

Maybe it's bcause I brush my teeth too hard.. help!

What should I do?

When I had that the dentist said it was juvenile periodontal disease. It wasn't the brushing hard but was that I wasn't brushing thoroughly enough. Keep brushing and flossing and have a dentist check them.

Always use a soft or extra soft toothbrush, massage rather than scrub your teeth and gums, and if you have a tendancy to be a bit heavy handed change your grip on the brush handle from a fist type grip to a fingertip grip. It is very hard to brush too hard if you are only holding the brush with your finger tips. Brush both the lip and tongue side of your teeth - to access the tongue side of your front 6 teeth insert the toothbrush vertically down behind each tooth and massage the tooth and gums. Basically if you don't feel the brush tickling on your gums you haven't got it in the right place.

If you haven't had your teeth cleaned professionally in a while it may be time for that as food debris builds up just under the gums and causes irritation and infection.

Are your gums red and bleed when you brush? If so take 500MG Vit. C per day rinse with Hydrogen Peroxide half water after each brushing and make an appointment with a Dentist. The lower anterior is where most tarter accumulate first. You probably need instruction on how to brush also. Your Dentist will show you when they are cleaned.

if you think thats the case then maybe a softer brush for a heavy hand but it also maybe the beginning of gingivitis. are they bleeding or just sore? make a dentist appointment if your gums continue to hurt.
