What I meant lily, is how do you know that you have eternal life, also did you notice the second part of my question?

liberty: "do u need evidence when you have faith."

Yeah, I do. Only evil, unwise, or hardly wise people go about believing something, juz cuz.

liberty: "that is contradictory"

Cuz u said so. I told you stop saying stupid things didn't I?

How is it contradictory?

Faith means trust, not BLIND TRUST.

And which part of the Bible has ever taught to have blind trust, and where is your common sense? Are you that stupid that you think it's just and good to go about believing whatever juz cuz? THAT IS EVIL STUPIDITY. No idiot would trust that a broken car will work when he gets into it JUZ CUZ or that a child rapist would take good care of their children, JUZ CUZ.

Andrei, are you that stupid and arrogant that you think you speak for all Christians, including the 100+ million plus on my side which do believe based on evidence? Get real! And see what I said to liberty. I'm not reading the rest of your rant.

personally, I think for the average Christian out there, there is not a "moment" that is that significant evidence of eternal life, but rather a succession of internal changes that bring an assurance of eternal life.

the bible is clear that we have communion with God always if we are in Christ. However the fellowship can be broken. Those who are out of fellowship would or at least should, not have assurance of salvation as they are grieving the Holy Spirit who assures of that.

I can elaborate, but the time constraint is not there. I grew up with demons and satanism as the norm for my home. the demons, the ones I was aquaited with, are bad news. I found Jesus to be the only one (obviously alive) who had power over them. To refuse Christ would be to have to live with them. I'd rather live in a rat infested....oh I did, it was iraq.

point being, you can scoff at the supernatural, but it exists. You might scoff at those who stupidly investigate paranormal things, but it exists inspite of your disbelief.

I find the evidence of God's power, in his ability to keep these things away from me.

Christians go by faith, not by evidence.

However, if you want evidence, read "Resurrected: tangible evidence that Jesus rose from the dead" by Dr. Gilbert Lavoie, M.D.

The author spent years examining photographs of the Shroud of Turin, running experiments trying to reproduce the same sort of image.

Science can't explain how the image was made. The carbon-dating done years ago (which placed the Shroud's origin in the 14th century) was flawed because it tested a piece of the cloth that was repaired, not an original piece.

It's a book that will impress many skeptics.

Jesus said he would rise from the dead. Three thousand people saw him after he died and walked the earth again. The Shroud was the last miraculous evidence he left behind for us.

Well, I believed it already but then about two years after my Father died,he paid me a visit. He said goodbye ,and he was gone.It never happened before or since (10 years ago).It was no "familiar spirit" or demon,it was him. That sealed the deal that there is more to life than just a measly 70 or 80 years here.He was totally peaceful and content,it has to be of God.

I know because the Holy Spirit lives in me. The day I "received" the gospel and believed with all my heart, was the day God chose me. The day God sent His Spirit into my life to help me believe ( for no one seeks after God as Romans 3:10 says)
It is not by anything good I have done- but completely soley by HIS GRACE that He has given me eternal life in Him. I do not deserve it, and yet He loves me that much. (Why?) Because it is HIS will to. Anyone who comes to Him, was drawn by the Holy Spirit (John 6:44) Anyone who "believes with their heart" believes because of God. We cannot do this on our own, and we should never give glory to ourselves. God deserves all the glory~ I am AMAZED truly amazed at His grace, and how He continually leads me, strengthens me, reveals His truth to me through His word. I desire nothing more than to LIVE for my Lord. It is ALL about Him~

Romans 10:17 says "Faith comes from hearing, and by hearing the word of God"
--One must hear the gospel before they can even understand WHY they need Jesus. One must know the seriousness of sin in their lives...and the free gift of salvation in Jesus Christ- and God is softening hearts everyday, as we who love and honor Him, share His word and truth IN LOVE.

Because He said so in His Word

1 John 1:2
(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;
1 John 1:1-3 (in Context)
1 John 2:25
And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
