Hi Stand unfortunately sometimes these things happen when they are chasing thugs. They will now have to follow new guidelines so hopefully these tragedies will stop. Having said that I had a lift home from a CID Officer a week ago, no I wasn't arrested we had attended a meeting together and his driving was impeccable prior to CID he had been in the blue flashing light side of things, so I don't think you can tar them all with the same brush. Don't get thrown off again. Bear, his figures are nearly right, the IPCC quoted 220 deaths last year involving Police chases.

I think you'll find that if you input all the miles that Police drivers do each year into your fantastic and absolutely tabaloid worthy equation you'll find the collision rate of police vehicles is less than that of an average driver. Since you have only included the Police into your rant there is clearly some animosity clouding your judgement. Police cars aren't the only Blue light users that get involved in collisions it was only yesterday that I attended an ambulance almost killing a man and bearing in mind that there are more Police vehicles on the road than ambulances and fire engines put together than its obvious that the stats are going to be higher.
Police drivers spend weeks developing their driving skills its just unfortunate that other drivers don't. You'd be amazed the amount of drivers that don't even see or hear the cops coming even in the dark with flashing headlights.
I agree there is an exception to the rule and sometimes officers do go too fast we're all human and all have adrenaline, its no excuse and the same rules apply to them if they have an accident where they get punished the same (and often harder than others) but at least they're doing for a cause (to protect life and property...which might be yours one day) so give them slack its very rare for it to be takeaway time lets face it would you risk the sack for a meal?

FOR A FACT....I bet you wouldn't be bitching a crying if your house was getting turned over and the police were stopped at a red traffic light !
Sad fact is you just dont know the facts, police cars are equipped with incident data recorders (Black boxes) and if they are involved in a collision and cannot justify why they were using speed exemptions and warning equipment they are prosecuted exactly the same as a member of the public.
Before loud mouthed idiots like you decide that the police driver is guilty why dont you wait for the facts about why someone failed to see blue lights and hear sirens, if the driver was in the wrong he wil be dealt with.

I'm not sure you know 'FOT A FACT' these things happen outside of emergency call times. Are you suggesting that the police stop rushing to crime scenes/accidents etc. on the off chance they'll be involved in an accident with someone innocent.
No one will ever be able to change that - you can't do anything - and if you do a whole new load of people will start robbing banks: 'it's fine we've got ages to smash into the vault and shoot some people, the police won't be here for ages'.

Oh do shut up you baffoon!!! You know lots of things for A FACT (mostly fictional in your tiny mind).
You asked this very same question one week ago....... before you had all your questions and answers REMOVED (for the good of Yahoo!!).
Your statistics are inaccurate. Please back them up with some hard facts (which I doubt you can!!)
Most of these deaths were attributed to downright dangerous and stupid driving by the idiots/ criminals failing to stop for the police.
The police cannot stop having a 'pursuit policy'. This was tried by one particular force, which led to every criminal realising that they just did not have to stop. Hence the police were not allowed to pursue them, hence the criminals escaped. Also hence the force reinstating the pursuit policy.
In 2005/06 there were 42 police-related road traffic incidents that resulted in the deaths of 48 individuals. Thirty-two of the individuals died during or shortly after a police pursuit and seven people died when a vehicle seemingly made off at speed from a patrolling vehicle or failed to stop when asked to do so by officers.
Pursuits should be managed by the Force Incident Manager. He or she will quickly ascertain the road conditions, vehicle and pedestrian activity and the level of skill of the pursuing officers. They will allow the pursuit to either continue or halt it if it is deemed too dangerous. This is constantly been assessed whilst other resources are despatched. Notably the helicopter will allow officers to back right off.
The pursuing officers themselves have the greatest responsibility to recognise when it is too dangerous to continue.

faculties want to do a much better interest of preventing the bullying. The consequences might want to be extreme. It replaced into only the lads that were bullies. Now the females are growing into the act. How is a baby who's bullied meant to study something interior the college room even as he’s annoying about getting beaten up or careworn even as he leaves college to pass residing house? and how is he meant to spotlight his homework even as he’s annoying about attending to college the subsequent morning while not having beaten up or careworn? Bullies are on the low end of the tutorial food chain. they have the braveness of a toad and the mind to verify. Bullies might want to receive one danger to quit their nonsense. a first adventure might want to get them a 2 day suspension (they received’t ideas because they’re no longer going to study something besides). A 2d offense might want to be dealt with as battery and earn them a weekend in penitentiary and a 2 week suspension. The suspension might want to be served in residing house, interior the detention room so as that they can only sit down there all day and be bored. inspite of it takes, we want to quit the bullying. it isn't chance free and there is not any justification for tolerating it. the days of “Boys will be boys” want to be discarded continually. An 11-365 days-old boy hanged himself by way of abuse he took. He died because no one at his college did something about the bullying he replaced into subjected to. BTW, this isn't generally an project of bigotry. this is an project of habit. we won't be able to punish human beings for his or her attitudes and ideology, yet we can absolutely punish them for his or her habit.

There are genuine accidents, but i have to say, the speed they travel at can be scary. One road in point is Ickenham Road in West Ruislip, it is 30 mph, but the police go down this road at incredible speeds, with engines literally screaming. The worst bit is there are school kids lots of traffic etc along this road.
Now i know they need to get to emergencies asap, and if i was in trouble i want them there as soon as, but not at the risk of killing or maiming someone.
I am in favor of a speed limit for emergency services.

If people didn't break the law, then take off at speed, they wouldn't have to speed after them. Think you have your facts wrong, because if you knew for sure that this was now the case, surely it's your civic duty to do something about it?

The drunk drivers all over America are actually killing more per DAY than police involved wrecks in a year.
So go get on soap box about that atrocity and let them do their jobs (you know, the thing you have no idea what they have to do to accomplish?)

What is your problem, you are taken being overwhelmed by your anti-Police feelings. Speak to a counsellor, bitterness is eating away at your soul and I am genuinely concerned for your welfare.
Either that or get a life and stop boring us all with your prejudices.
