I had very light blonde hair until i was about 10 years old, it turned a mid brown, and when i was 14 i had blonde high lights, its 7 months on and they have almost come out totally, i really hate the colour it is now, and cant afford to go back to a salon to have the colour done properly, so could i just use a home kit of permanent die to go to dark brown? Thanks

what you will need is filler before putting a dark brown color on,if you don't use a filler the color will look ashy or "thin" not deep or rich. If you tell me what level blonde you are and the level brown you want to be, I can tell you what kind of filler to use (usually a demipermanent color) then what permanent brown color, (Mocha, carmel.....) to use to achieve this look, a picture would help.

Best to dye your hair red first as this will put pigment back in. I did dye my hair from bleach blonde to brown but parts of it went a greenish colour so I always dye it red first now. Get one of those 'Toners' from boots they're only about 70p and that should do it. I'm not sure how long you're supposed to have the red in before you dye it to brown but at least you've put some pigment back. You are able to go straight from bleach blonde to brown but not sure how long you're supposed to have had your highlights for.

I do it all the time and you should have no problems. The high lighted hair might come out a little lighter but it should look great.

Just remember it will come out much darker than the box states.
