The top-35 rule needs to be chucked out the window like roll bar padding out of Robby Gordon's car.....LOL. No, Really, it needs to go. it is so much BS that those cars that out ran the others should be sent home.

Yes. I remember a race at a road coarse were one of the Bodine brothers missed the race and said that NASCAR needs to do something to help the people who race every week. Makes me wonder. Although I'll be a NASCAR fan forever Some of the things NASCAR comes up with are lets be nice and say not to my likeing. 43 cars in the race and the fastest 43 should make the race. NASCAR says they want to save money but lets be real, no money is being saved. Wouldn't it be nice to see a big name miss a race.

Thank you so much. I was just sitting here thinking the same thing. Even the announcers were agreeing that something must be done for 2008. It may have worked before, but with 51 good cars out there, something needs to be done about sending those at the top home. I hope NASCAR will wise up, this is one time we really need a new rule.

They nascar that is needs to change qualifing if you are not fast enough you should go home no matter who you are. Much like the NHRA does John Force missed 2 races this year 1 was during their countdown to 4 so chaser should not have special treatment. you are their to race it is all about the sponsorship deal anymoe not the racing.

The top 35 cars were running a race setup instead of a qualifying setup. That's why they weren't as fast. If it weren't an impound race, they wouldn't have been 1st through 11th. The problem here isn't the Top 35 rule, it's the impound rule.

I agree with you 100%. What we don't know is , if the rules were changed, would the order be different. Would the top 35 have a different set up on the car that would have made a difference. We'll never know.

Those [11] will pay the price come RaceDay !!!and you kind of have to look after the owners...Take Jack Roush for example,[5]car's.
Jack's the one dishing out the big $$BUCK'S,just to keep Ford alive in this sport, and if you really think about it.....The kind of money that Toyota's got...If Jack wasn't here, that would probably put [5] Toyota's in his place.''I'' myself, don't want to see a bunch of toyota's run'in round the trac

I think during the regular season everyone should have to qualify every race & during the chase just the top twelve are gauranteed a spot (Unless they change next year to 15 or 20 drivers for the chase so that jr. can be in it too , LOL)

The fastest 43 should race none of the dayyam free rides.
