Although a Church is a house of God, He gives them to us so that we might better understand Him and each other, as well as to equip us with the tools we need to explore our spirituality and our relationships with Him. Church is God's gift to Parishioners.

Church belongs to the Parishioners; it is their religious toolbox.

the church belongs to all the parishioners no-matter the religion , the church is like a building society , you recieve the benifet if it does , i do agree with the answer that the church is the body of christ

Whoever holds title on the mortgage owns the church. When the church is paid off, the church belongs to the incorporated body that bought it, which is the congregation. god does not live in houses made with the hands of man. God lives in the house he built, which is the human body.

This will get me thumbs down for sure but I believe it belongs to the Parishioners. After all its their donations that keep the church up and running (maintance, electric bills and so forth) and if you want to give me thumbs down for that go for it but God isnt the one paying the bills or buying the materials

WE FEEL THAT GOD HAS PLACED US IN A POSITION TO BE STEWARDS OF THE CHURCH AND OF COURSE IN THE MUNDANE WORLD WE MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR WHATEVER NEEDS TO BE DONE SUCH AS MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR AND SO FORTH. BUT, IN THE LONG RUN IT IS GODS CHURCH. TO CLARIFY I AM A MEMBER OF MY CHURCH AND ATTEND BUSINESS MEETINGS AND VOTE YEA OR NAY AS MY CONSCIENCE LEADS ME BUT WHEN I DIE I WILL NOT LEAVE ANY PART OF THE CHURCH AS AN INHERITANCE TO MY CHILDREN OR MY ESTATE.

Our "church" is the saved people who all belong to Jesus. We are the body of Christ.

The building is consecrated to God, so it belongs to Him, also.
