answer: Fred Phelps is a suitable occasion of each and every thing a Christian isn't meant to be. He forgets that Jesus preached to love human beings -- and what Mr. Phelps is preaching is diametrically opposite to the instructions of Jesus

He claims to be a Christian. In fact, he claims to have a better understanding of the Bible and God than anyone else.
I don't think he is.
I have looked through their web site several times and feel dirty every time when I'm done. Blech.

I don't believe you are really accurate on that one my dear. Fred Phelps says that God hates. God does not hate. He may hate what people do to themselves but He does not hate the people. He does not visit tragedy on people to make them pay for their sins. He only says that there is a consequence for doing wrong. He doesn't say that He will bring aids down on homosexuals.
This is the problem - those who want to reject Christ will use the worst example they can find to try to prove that we are all a bunch of mean and hateful people. That is the minority and they are wrong.

No, that's not even remotely true. Mr. Phelps serves his petty hates, so he can't serve God. He is to Christians what yapping trolls like you are in Y!A: a spiteful little child. A maimed, malicious pretender who dreams of punishing others for his own faults. He needs God's grace and mercy--but then, so do we all.

Strictly speaking, yes. He considers Jesus to be his "lord and savior", and he regards the Bible as the Word of his god.
Of course, he is also an attention-seeking sociopath with a long history of abuse of congregants and family members.
But as long as he worships God and take Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he goes to heaven. According to Christianity.

Of course he's a Christian. And a shining example of what taking that self righteous, "I speak for god", hatred can do to people.

Yes, he is a Christian. And, he's just as bad as the rest of the Christians.
