I just started a company and help overweight kids and teens to lose weight without dieting. Our focus is helping kids to create a natural relationship with food by connecting with their body and listening to their hunger and fullness cues. We also emphasize feeling fabulous at any weight and while losing and teaching kids how to handle their emotions in other ways besides with food. We notice that many of our clients (like I used to) overeat to comfort themselves, to deal with body dissatisfaction, to procrastinate, when they are happy and celebrating, because of boredom, because there are starving kids in the world, because they've been good all week, because everyone else wants them to eat, and for tons of other reasons as well.
Our mission is to reach as many teens as possible, but it seems that some teens are turned off by our site and think it is cheezy. What do you think? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Yes he is overweight. He should be 140-160 max. So he's 30-50 pounds overweight. Try taking him to the gym a few times a week, enrolling him in sports, even go and play outside with him. However I find it weird that your son is sending you pictures shirtless.. And no need to humiliate him on yahoo answers. I'd take him to the doctor as well to see if he has any health issues.

I think you need to add more things that teens can relate to.. Like pics of kids doing every day things that kids do...of course have them be a little on the portly side...And have some before and after pics and stories of teens that have been through it.. Good idea but a little to wordy.. If kids don't get the message in the first minute they are looking at the site they lose interest. Good Luck

Your website is sooo 'commercial' and also EXTREMELY PLAIN. You need to 'jazz it up' with some good 'pictures' of teens of ALL WEIGHTS having fun, and possibly add some 'current music' in the background. The 'colors' need to be changed, too. Use turquoise instead of the 'green' and use it on the 'whole background' with an 'eggplant purple' edge around your writing, and some bright orange and yellow stars ... THEN kids would feel 'connected' to you INTSTANTLY, and you'd get more to 'sign up.' Also, if this costs anything say so UP FRONT, and if it's 'FREE' say that in the very FIRST part of your website ...

From a parent's point of view : It's nice that you have a Ph.D and some life experiences, but no articles or publications except for more websites. I would worry that you don't have enough research or professional experience.
Using a lot of exclamation points looks like an infomercial. Suggesting show and story ideas makes you look like salespeople, not doctors. The lack of photos of teens suggests you have yet to counsel your first client.
Not for my child's health, thank you.

It doesn't look cheesy, but it does look unorganized, kind of like how a scammer would do it. Just make sure to put your links and pictures organized in the left or right side...if you don't understand, then look at this site, it's somewhat well-known and credible. =)

EDIT: And also, the size of your font makes it look a little bad too. Just do everything in your power to make sure it looks original and packed full of information!

The sense and logic of the material will appeal to those who need and want it (it's free for goodness' sake). Hope you get a lot of response before somebody reports you for advertising a business (nono).

It's okay. If you would like some ideas maybe give it a little more color on the backround...other than that pretty good!
