Absolutely. There was once a time when if you spoke out about Christianity, you would be tortured and killed.
Now that people can discuss religion openly, it is falling apart.
Only a few hundred years ago, a person who said the earth revolved around the sun would have been thrown into a dungeon to die. Just because the Bible said that angels moved the sun across the sky.
Now that we have been to space and can see no angels up there, religion has lost it's power.
Read the Bible where it describes the earth. In the Bible the earth is flat, held up by pillars (like a giant oceanic oil-rig) and the sun revolves around the earth. The sky is a mirrored dome with the sun, moon and stars affixed to the underside. The moon creates it’s own light. Above the dome, God sits on a throne in heaven. God, who’s as strong as a unicorn, rides cherubs and came to earth to show his “back parts” to one man and wrestle with another. The Bible tells of unicorns, cockatrices, and satyrs. Snakes, trees and donkeys talk. Does this sound like reality to you?
It is a constant wonder to me how reasonably intelligent people still worship this God of the flat earth.

Bandycat5, reference please! Nowhere in the Bible does it say that the earth is flat. More likely you have given us a picture of how people were thinking in the Dark Ages because the Bible was proscribed and no one could read it except at the loss of property, family, and life itself. The last time I checked in the Bible about the earth, it says that the earth is a circle:
"Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is HE WHO SITS ABOVE THE CIRCLE OF THE EARTH. And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in." Isaiah 40:22.
When Christopher Columbus read this passage, it gave him confidence to set sail and discover new worlds, that the earth was not flat after all as he had been told by the religious leaders of his day. This shows that the catholic prelates did not believe the word of God but were only teaching their human traditions and inventions. :)
One thing we may be sure of, morality has been declining and will continue to decline until the religious leaders of Christendom turn to the secular power to enforce morality. This is the work of the "beast' and "its image" in these last days. This explains why there is so much talk about church and state these days. Prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes!

i think it's being questioned about it's validity. for instance the bibile! is it the word of god or man? many contradictions do we have in the bible & let me get right to it.matt 28:1-2 an angel(remember #1) came down rolled the stone back from the door then sat upon it, mark16:4-5 they came up to see the stone already rolled back from the door they went in to see a young man(remember #1) sitting on the right side & didnt sit upon it,luke 24:2-4 agrees with mark that the stone was already rolled away from the door of the sepulchre but as they went in there stood two men(remeber not #1). john20:1-12 mary of magdalene goes to the sepulchre by herself 'which contradict the other three book" to see the stone already rolled away later came the disciples they looked & seen nothing went away leaving mary by herself weeping as she looked up back into the sepulchre she see's two angels sitting, one at the head one at the feet not on the right side or upon the stone & was it #2 men or #2angels or #1 man. i say this is mans word! that why in the original gospels they start off with "this is the gospel according to the man that wrote it not god" for god would not leave us with this confusion. there are hundreds of other contradictions in the bible & these are clear contradictions not a matter of interpetation, so on that note yes christianity is on the decline for we all know that it is the truth that will ultimately set you free not contradictions. god bless.

Check out Philip Jenkins' series on The Coming Christendom
Christianity is growing by leaps and bounds in Africa and other populous places(especially in the Southern Hemisphere) and in the US and Latin America it is more than holding its own. In Western Europe where there seems to be a lack of any sort of cultural or religious commitment ,the population is not replacing itself and Christians seem rather timid.
Atheism is on the decline in Eastern Europe and even in parts of Asia still dominated by the forced atheism of Communism.
Many find theism ,modernity, devotion and secularity quite compatible through out the world.
Secularism as militant hostility to religion and spirituality is not compatible with democritization and diversity any more than radical Jihadism is since it forces people to hide their beliefs ,thoughts or views from the secularist inquisitors and fanatics.

Yes. For example, it is no secret that most of the people who claim to follow the Christ are not doing so by any means.
I remember hearing that only 20-30% of Russians still attend church regularly. For a biblical reason why, e-mail me.

I have no sources, I am sourceless. Many church folks actually know there is no god, but are still in church for the sake of their parents. When their parents die, it may commence to decline, why do you ask?
