because I have picture project and the videos only play on Quicktime so everytime I try to edit the movies in windows maker, its says that its not a supported file type and cannot be imported into Movie Maker.
and i really need to edit these videos for my film-making.

Oh its window's movie maker btw and thats the only movie editer(sp?) i have.

I think you want to download RealPlayer.. You should be able to open .mov and save as .avi
