Kim is 100% right, your cat is severely anemic now and this can and will kill him if left untreated. Most vets will work with you, I know that there have been times when I was strapped for cash and the vet has worked out a payment plan and let me write post-dated checks for each payment. Vets dont want your pets to die. Also, the SPCA can help you , too. They can find you help with the vet care and sometimes it may even be free. But that cat needs to go, if his tongue is now so pale that you can see the veins (giving it the blue look) he is in trouble. And, please dont give him anymore wormer, if he's really loaded with worms, this treatment alone can kill him, due to his weakened state. It could throw his body into shock. And, stop bathing your cat, if he is that infested, bathing him can cause him to start bleeding, again maybe sending him into shock. When the flea bites him, the blood will coagulate and leave a little scab, but when you bathe him, these scabs all loosen and the bleeding starts again, and in his state, it can kill him. You have to get him to a vet NOW to save him, there is no other way at this point. Good luck and I hope he makes out alright.

Hi,take your cat the Blue cross (U.K Animal Charity) they will help you, search on the internet for a clinic near you, they will definitely help you. Do the same what ever country you are in there must be animal charities. You need to borrow some amount of money just in case though.Sounds like the fleas are taking over the cats body you need to act quickly, he's really suffering. One of the best flea treatments is Frontline vets always recommend it,this is fast acting treatment,I have used Frontline on my kitten for 4 months now and since then he has not had a single flea on him at all. You can buy worming tablets from any pet shop they don't cost much.I decided to use Frontline because I had read so many great reviews on it on Yahoo Answers. 3 months supply is around £20,you squeeze the first application on the cats skin and that's it,the fleas start dropping off dead quickly. You must act quickly your cat is really suffering.Good luck I hope he gets better.

Unlikely he'll die unless he has a prolonged and very bad infestation of both fleas and worms - but he will soon be very ill if you don't take the appropriate action, which so far you haven't.
Store-bought flea and worm products DO NOT WORK. You need to go to a vet - you don't actually have to take the cat, you can buy the proper treatments to save him over the counter i.e Frontline for the fleas and Drontal or Milbemax for the worms. You need to deflea the cat monthly, and worm him every three months. You also MUST spray your house, as this is where most of the fleas are now living.

If you have access to the Internet you should be able to find a local cat shelter or rescue group that would be willing to give you help or better advise.....Many shelters and animal control have help available for low income persons.....Try your local SPCA group. I have 13 , cats all were foundlings at some point and I have a difficult time with medical expenses much of the time.....the best flea solution I have ever tried that worked for me and I have tried ever thing is REVOLUTION TOPICAL it breaks the flea cycle where the fleas cannot breed... I have a very allergic cat so I cannot have fleas... all of my cats are inside but living in Florida you bring fleas in on your pants....also the type of worms you get from fleas are tapeworms which takes a special type of worm-er to get rid of them....Normally you can buy 3 pills for around $12-$15, but I found a site out of Australia that I get 20 pills for $20.... good luck

I'd be most concerned about the four year old, given he is now entering into a special developmental stage of identity - meaning, he is really getting that he is seperate from mommy and daddy and can never go back to the "safe haven" consciousness he had previously. Let him know that kitty is gone, but that you and daddy will still keep the family safe. You might want to say the kitty had an accident because he wasn't being safe - which is true. Be most focused on encouraging both children to understand they are safe in the family, then deal with the never coming back again part of death. Maybe wait a few months before getting a new pet- add to the family because the pet is special, not just because you are replacing the other.

He is now suffering from anemia from the fleas and most likely digestive problems from the worms. He is losing his hair from both the fleas and anemia. If you don't get the fleas off of him now sweetie you will lose him. Make that call to your vet and explain your financial situation and ask for payment arrangements. 9 out of 10 vets will work with you. If you can't find a vet who will work with you today please email me and I will try and walk you through some steps to provide him with some relief until you can find one in the next few days.

I am sorry, but if your cat can't get to a vet, he will most likely die. It may even be too late at this point, so if money is a big issue, I would either have him euthanized or see if anyone can take him who could possibly provide the necessary care. Sorry.

I hate to say it, but your cat will probably end up dying if you don't get it to a vet. I sympathize with your finacial problem, but its not fair to the animal. The smartest and probably hardest thing for you to do is take it to a humane society where they can treat him and get him to a new home.

Take him to the ASPCA. They will help you with affordable treatment. You can not let him suffer. He may needs shots and all. Best to your cat and family.
