Probably - but which pill was it? Capstar or Program, or another one? Program sterilises fleas but doesn't kill them, it's often used in conjunction will Frontline for maximum protection. Capstar kills all fleas but doesn't prevent them so it's also often used with Frontline.

This stuff should've had an instruction label on it - that's naughty of the vet! You should really ring them and find out what they intended you to do with this stuff. The Frontline will have manufacturers instructions in it, make sure you read them - especially the bit about getting the Frontline on the skin of the animal, not the fur - important!

You can trust your vet, if they couldnt be used together, your vet would have advised you of this. Also, you will need to treat your entire house, too, not just carpeting and where the dog sleeps, but everywhere. Flea eggs can just fall into the cracks of a wood floor and then wait for a long time for the right time to hatch. Treat the whole house repeatedly, do it three times 10 days apart and be sure to get something that clearly states on the label that it will kill not only the fleas, but the eggs and larvae as well. Good luck! Also, I would have that pet tested for tapeworms if he has had fleas previously, tapeworms are transmitted by the fleas.

yes...it's called a capstar, and it has no residual effect, and does not last long, just kills all the fleas on the pet...put advantage on asap, or if your pet comes into contact with fleas, he/she can pick them up again.
