Why would you want to lick (or even kiss) an inanimate object, never mind something that thousands of others have probably licked before you? Just think of all the bacteria!

Better question is why you'd want to lick it. I don't know why you'd feel the need. Isn't kissing it in veneration good enough? (assuming this wall has some significance as you suggested. How exactly is it holy?)
