Depends on where u park up but i never found the need to take livin wood theres plenty stuff layin round that will burn

Most wood collected off the ground has seasoned and dried and burns relatively well. Wood taken off a live tree would be moist and difficult to burn, plus it would smoke like the dickens.

Be careful what you collect. People trying to keep warm will throw just about anything in the fire, but some materials produce toxic fumes, and wood from poison oak or ivy can cause lung damage or even kill. So I guess the answer is a qualified yes.

Yes. Because it is usually already dry and you don't have to cut it. So it saves time and work.

put it this way, if you are going to cut down a tree to use m(for whatever) why no just plant another one at the same time.
