My little cousin kept flickering the TV on and off. They pressed the button several times before the TV had time to respond though, and it made a strange noise, flickered, and stayed off. It won't turn on now. Is it broken, or can it be repaired?

Try un plugging it for a while. It may reset if you are lucky.

Yes it is repairable--but will it be worth the cost of repairs?

I would say it could be repaired, but at what cost? TVs today, like most everything else we buy, are made to be disposable. Depending on what broke and the age of your set, it may be cheaper to purchase a new set.

Plus, with the digital switch over in 16 months, might as well go for the HD set.
