If you're talking about your male dog's penis, then the reddish-pinkish thing IS the penis. The other bit that you can see all the time is the foreskin/sheath. If you're talking about his butt, then it sounds like some sort of parasite and you need to get him checked out.

yes. The "red thing" as you call it, is the penis and the neutering does not affect it. Nuetering gets rid of his "balls' so that he cannot get a female pregnant. Male dogs that have been neutered (especially if neutered later in life) can still have a sex drive and may still try to mount a female in heat, they just cant get her pregnant.

I've never seen a neutered dog laying around with it hanging out like uneutered ones do....
Im sure some still do, but its not NEARLY as common in unneutered dogs.

I have a rotti/chow mix that has been neutered for 12 years and Ive never seen his come out. Come to think of it, I dont think I've ever seen his. Ever.
He was fixed when he was about 6mths old.
It probably just depends on the dog.

Yes, but it will likely do it less. I have a neutered male and I have only seen it once. Some males do it a lot and some not at all. It just depends, but neutering does seem to lessen it.

If you are so aware of what it is then why don't you use the correct term for it? I am pretty sure that it will still come out. The best thing to do would probably be to ask your vet when you drop your dog off to be fixed.

Hi, about your dogs 'red bits' when you get him neutered, then yes hes red bits will still come out as they dont remove that part, and it will still come out when he gets exited. have funxx

Hehe...the red rocket? Hard to say. One of my fixed males never does it...I've never seen it. The other fixed male's comes out all the time...mostly when he is excited about something (walks, treats, etc.)

It's possible...you'll just have to wait and see! :)

You mean his penis?? YEAH.. they remove the testicles, not the penis.. Don't say red thing.. call it by the proper name.. If you are aware, then why are you calling it a red thing?? If you know about dog's anatomy.. then why are you asking this question??
