I would love to have my carpet back, but....Right now I have hardwood floors & ceramic tile. With kids & dogs, I found out the hard way that carpet tends to get run down, no matter what brand you buy. For right now, the flooring I have fits my needs & if the animals have any accidents or the kids spill anything, it is an easy clean up :-)

well, here in my old house that I am remodeling, I have carpet in the 3 bedrooms. and hard wood floors all though the hallway and kitchen, dining room, and livingroom. Its also in the foyer. and bathroom. To tell you the truth, I prefer my hard wood floors, all I do most of the time is take a spray bottle and spray them with a mixture of the orange flavored pins sol, and murphys oil soap. Then take a dust mop behind that and sweep real fast. Its fast, easy, and makes the house smell so yummy! the carpets in the bed room take up more time for vaccuuming. love the arm and hammer tropical pet fresh powder I use. it smell so good to. Wow! I do love the way my house smells! In the winter time I have my small rugs out all over to. They are machine washable and hot pink! so cute!

Hello,
I fancy hardwood floors any day. They look beautiful and are hard wearing.
See here for some information on why:

If you make up your mind, post your job on the uktradestreet site and get a local approved tradesman to come and give you some samples together with some practical information.
Good Luck

I prefer laminate (a good one) in common areas. I have a child and 2 large dogs and high traffic (entertain a lot). In bedrooms though I prefer the warmth of carpet.

#2 because it gives a warm feeling and is not too cold and hard as tiles. Just like the wood furnitures are preferred over painted.

I feel like I'm becoming the spokesperson for OCD...
But yea...
I have OCD...
I like things really, really clean...
So I'm going to have to go with...
Ceramic / Porcelain Tiles for $10,000 please :-))
Though, in all truth...
Appearance wise...
I love those big slate, stone slabs the use now in modern homes...
I'd have to see how OCD compliant they were...
Before, I made such a large investment...
