I've tried everything from holding my nose and blowing to chewing gum and absolutely nothing works for me. It's becoming increasingly irritating. Help?

I've done everything to unpop them; drinking water, yawning, chewing gum, holding my nose and blowing, holding my nose and swallowing.. nothing works. Any other suggestions?

It's easier, faster, and safer to just go to the doctor and get some meds. You have some fluid in your ears! The meds will help.

Good advice so far. I had a similar experience but it wasn't from a cold...it was from getting off of an airplane. I actually took some allegra (recommended by my sister) even though I had no symptoms to take it for and my ears unpopped. I hope your ears unpop.

May be you are trying to blow with mouth open (while holding the nose closed)? Close the mouth firmly and pinch the nose too so that the air has no escape route. Now when you try to blow, the ear drums will unpop.
Sending Reiki to you (freely, no fee) for helping you.
If this doesn't work, go to doctor.

You need to go see an ear, nose, throat specialist! I had the same thing and it was ear wax deep in your ear canal and fluids! He did an ear wax removal and then they unpopped! It's nothing serious but still has to be done. Good luck!

Once that happened to me and i spent two days with them blocked, finally when i decided to go the doctor that morning i swallowed, squished my finger in my ear and it popped
From there on i used a cotton bud, not too stick in cause it only pushes it back and makes it harder, but too clean the sides.

i am surprised none of those methods have worked. I would talk to a doctor. For ear aches, my dad puts rubbing alcohol in my ears and its dries them out and makes them feel better but I think you should talk to someone in the medical field on this one.
