Use the contact information left by the parents. Tell them you are sick. If you have found a neighbor to watch the kids, ask the parents if your substitute is acceptable to them. If not, they will tell you what to do. Let them know you must leave. She should have called the parents to make sure the neighbor is approved. If you can't contact the parents, try calling your own parents and have one of them come and help until contact can be made with parents of the children. You are responsible for the children until their parents relieve you of that duty, this is the proper way to handle it.
As a babysitter, you should not let the parents of the children leave without knowing where to contact them or someone else they approve of in case of an emergency.

Definitely let the parents of the kids you're watching know. I think they'd be sympathetic, but make sure you have a back up plan like calling your mom, or a neighbor if that's possible. Or, stick it out if you can. I wouldn't just leave a note and then go home, I'd make sure the parents know what's going on...

When I babysat alot I would have called the parents. Tell them what happened and see what they say about the situation. If it happened close to the time they were to be back, put a movie on for the kids and wait.

he!! no!! What if the parents didn't want that neighbor watching those/that kid? That's not right. She should have called the parents to come home. Period.
If a babysitter did that with my children, I'd never have them babysit again. That was a very bad lack of judgement on her part.

I think she should have called her parents and asked their advice. For example, her mom might have come over and helped her.
