I believe in God, but I understand that atheists don't. That is their perogative. Many of them have higher values instead of a higher power. I understand their life experience has brought them to that decision. I don't know who is right or wrong. But I don't feel threatened by what they believe. Someday we will all know. Why should I fight with them about it? Isn't their perspective just as valid as my own?

A very good question. You are among those on the path to enlightenment.

It is not possible for us as humans to know the awesome nature of God. All Holy text proclaim this. All look at the same God but see him from different perspectives.

There is an understanding that allows all holy text to exist in harmony. Who can account for the perspective of men?

Because of our concept of "Good & Evil" most think that God loves best those that look like us, think like us and worship like us. Others are less "good" or worse our minds. Thus we judge them. This state or consciousness is where all evil comes into our world. The divine state of God consciousness or Christ consciousness or Buddah consciousness (ect, ect...) closes the door on the satan. It is the state of divine love.

One beautiful day in a public place, I was surrounded by all types of ppl. All types. Muslim, Christian, Jew, Hindu, Asian, white, black and more. I noticed that all basked in the beauty of the day. The sun was shining on all, the birds sang for all, the breeze blew for all, Gods love was showered on all of us.

When we learn how to shower our love on all then we find the Kingdom. For all that you see, all that you experience is of God. You have your existance in him. "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together. See how they run like pigs from a gun, I'm crying." (J. Lennon).

Blessings and peace to all,
All in all,
B

You're having a hard time aren't you? You've heard it before but you're the only one who can break this cycle - the best recommendation I can make is to exercise - go for a swim, put some music on and have a dance, take a long walk in the fresh air for example. These things will usually get you feeling a bit better to start with - then try and smile at one person tomorrow - try and say hi to one person the next day & so on. You could also start doing something creative - knitting's cool these days, or do some baking or something - use your imagination! You'll have setbacks sometimes, we all do, but you're not a lost cause. Just start again whenever you can. Best of luck

If you say you believe in God but you don't know whether atheists are right or you are right then you are double-minded.

There has been a tremendous concerted effort on the part of some, who happen to be rich and powerful and extremely influencial to get the general population to think the way you do.

It takes effort to act on this knowledge, to do the research and learn what is happening in the world today and to stand up for what you believe.

It takes true faith to say that you are right and that there is a God, and that atheists are wrong.

It is not judging someone who doesn't believe the way you do to say that you are right and they are wrong. You can't both be right.

Concerning judging another, if you didn't judge what is right and wrong in the actions of the people they come in contact with then you wouldn't be able to protect your children.

"why is it so hard for some to consider another persons perspective? " To answer this question first, a lot of people have build their lives around their beliefs and their entire identity depends on those beliefs. I think this way of living is unwise, to say the least. It is good to live a life of values and morals, but not be so intertwined with beliefs so that one can't distinguish right from wrong without refering to some source. In my mind, the best and moral action is one in which the person really and truly considers it as the best course--it has to do with dignity and integrity--the very personal characteristics of a person, not some authority.

One never knows what is right or wrong. But I see atheism as a much friendlier thing to than previously when I opened my eyes to the possibility that people can have genuine and steadfast morals without religion, not to mention superior and genuine thoughts of the atheist thinkers. Not all but some few humble great sincere minds... they just happen to be atheists.

Yahoo's provided a tool here on YQA ostensibly to allow people to learn from one another.

Instead it's being used by human beings as an arena for inflicting abuse on the ideas, beliefs, and life-paths of those who disagree with them.

I believe the reason is probably that the 'Yahoo Answers Team' management is composed of people with an antipathy for religious belief of any sort, so they tacitly allow and encourage the attitude you describe.

My suspicion is that many of the 'trolling' and baiting questions on YQA RS are actually Yahoo employees indulging in something they consider humor.

Very well said! The same could be said for those who do not believe what Christians do.

You are a wise woman.

Arguing will get us nowhere.
The mocking and ridicule will only cause ill will.

None of us has any reason to be threatened by another's beliefs. To each his own.

Your perspective has been considered already and dismissed.
The consideration does not need to be repeated. For me, my dismissal is final.
