i keep reading questions about saving and salvation and redemption... but i still haven't figured out what is it that one is saved from.

So this lady named Mary, had a son a long time ago in a land far far from Washington D.C. We only know that she gave hers son a first name because his last name would have been Joseph's Son, anyway. Before this kid was born she was told by a majestical energy source that her son would SAVE PEOPLE FROM THEIR SINS with his message of love and forgiveness. The majestical energy source suggested the name of Immanuel because it meant "God with us," but Mary said she was going to name him Jesus. (TRUE STORY IF YOU BELIEVE THE BIBLE.)
