I just want to know how much they start off and which places will pay more (hospital,clinic etc.) Do non certified MA get paid the same as CMA? How often do you get raises and what is the environment like? Live in Los Angeles Area.

One of the best employers of MAs in LA is the Kaiser network--hospitals, Drs offices and clinics. They have regional personnel offices. Salary in clinics is more standardized; in medical offices you get paid whatever the MD wants--multispecialty practices are again more standardized than single offices. As to CMA vrs MA--depends on the requirements for the job--if the employer doesn't care/or doesn't need cert there is no difference. The start salary is $10-12/hr or so.
