Some people believe President George W started the Iraq war because Saddam was still the president of Iraq and not his own dad was not re elected as president. I dont know if this is true though. What do you think of this?

Whatever the lame reason was, we are now going to be stuck there for many years to come, the loss of lives, civilians the destruction of the country and the billions in our tax dollars given to Halliburton make this once of the biggest screwups in American history!

More to the fact it was 'unfinished business' - George Bush wanted to go in and finish Saddam off, but he was basically told 'No - go away' by Saudi Arabia.

When Monkey Boy took over the White House, there seemed all sorts of attempts to remove Saddam. EG not waiting for the UN, trying to make a link to Saddam after 9/11.

Wow. What college district is that? Presidnet George W. Bush prosecuted the conflict in Iraq for multiple motives. the single maximum widley understand and least understood, advert to do with weapons of Mass Destruction. maximum folk think of that the belief became to pass inot Iraq and discover vats of weaponized botulism or almost finished nuclear units. in reality much less concrete--Iraq had made consistent efforts to stymie inspections and had never presented an entire accounitng of their WMD components. there have been such components that have been popular to be in Iraq in 1992 and in 1998, by 2002, the question became what had occurred to those materails--what were destroyed and how, the place have been they, ought to any of or no longer it fairly is examined? Hussein had additionally given plenty help and help to terrorists. We were engaged in Afghanistan for nearly a 300 and sixty 5 days and it became popular that al Qaeda participants have been fleeing--between the risk-free havens they have been fleeing to became Iraq--partly the invasionwa approximately denying those havens and battling help to different terror communities besides suhc as Hamas and Hezbollah.

Yep.

He told his cabinet he would find a way to get at Iraq and used the 9/11 attacks as an excuse before he even knew if Al Quadea was in Iraq.

He had Saddam's pistol flown back and presented to him as a war trophy so he could show Bush the elder that he brought him down.

All of these men and women sacrificed for a personal vendetta. It is such a shame.

g-day!

One problem with that. The reasons given for offensive military operations against Iraq in the authorization passed by the Congress in 2002 (Public Law #107-243) are mostly taken from the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 (Public Law #105-338). And that law was passed while William Jefferson Clinton was the President. He was the one who defeated Bush the Elder in 1992.

Saddam made a threat to assinate Bush's father. I've heard that it's called a conspiracy theory...But I believe it. Bush wanted to go after Saddam for making the threat and 9/11 gave him an excuse to invade Iraq.

Saddam aided the terrorist and before long he would have had the power of a nuke. The world is a safer place without him. I don't like the war but I think it was right to remove Saddam. Perhaps if all the mosques were destroyed there would not have been places for the terrorist to hide. We should have gone in with lager numbers of troops and we would be out by now.
