Fleas are going to be very difficult to get rid of without some sort of chemical control. If your cat has fleas, then I'm afraid your house has them too. Fleas can live, unfed, in your carpets, for two years!
I'd recommend Frontline which comes in little plastic tubes. Its not organic, but it is recommended by my vet, so it is in no way 'toxic' to your cat. You just put the drops onto the back of your cat's neck & they will be protected for about 12 weeks. Next you should treat your furniture & carpets with a spray to see them off properly.
You can get flea combs which zap the fleas with an electric current (obviously this is very mild and will not harm your cat), but this is better used as a preventative measure rather than a cure. If your cats go outside you will find that they will get re-infected, so you need to be vigilant.
I hope that you find something that will work, but please remember that cats who are left infected with fleas can develop skin disorders and infections, so you may have to compromise on the chemicals.
All the best.x

You can only buy safe flea products that work from vets. Many store-bought products are dangerous, and none work. I don't think cedar, rosemary or any herbs are going to get you anywhere - and that includes garlic too.
Go to a vet and get some Frontline or Advantage. Frontline stays on the skin of the animal, it does not affect them internally so it's probably the safest product there is, and it really works. Just make sure it gets on the skin of the cats, not their fur.

HonestlyI tried all the non chemical ways, and none of them worked for us. We have 3 cats. I ended up finally getting the Advantage stuff. It worked really well though, and after a day there wasn't any oily spot on their fur it had soaked in and stuff already.

Frontline is best - will not harm your cat (it is a chemical, but not toxic). If they are outdoor cats, the frontline should last abut 4-6 months.

Peppermint. I don't know why but it kills them. I usually get some gental shampoo(baby or animal shampoo) and add in peppermint oil. Let it it for about 2 min and wash. Worked wonders on the strays I find. Good thing is it leavesthem smelling good and flealess! Might want to follow it w/ a lice comb to get any eggs out.

heard it said that garlic will deter fleas..
if you are dead set against using any flea spray / spot on / powder.. try combing the cats with a human lice comb. that will remove the fleas.. vaccum up all areas around the haouse and around their bed area.. if poss throw out their bed and buy a new one ..not possible hot wash it .
repaet the combing daily until you see no sign of fleas at all
good luck

A drop of white vinegar in their drinking water helps. Dawn dishwashing liquid gets rid of them to. But if your house is infested, which is likely if your cats are primarily indoors, try sprinkling your carpets with baking soda and then vacuuming.
Hope that helps!!!
