Personally I would say Barbie. First of all have you seen the clothes that these "Bratz" wear? If you start buying her these Bratz now, dont be surprised if later on she wants to wear the "cool" clothes that the Bratz wear. Now Barbie is a classic doll. At least if you buy Barbie she wears appropriate clothing. Barbie sets a good enough example. She does not wear too much make-up and has a more suitable wardrobe.

Neither. I feel these dolls are not appropriate for kids to be playing with. I mean, look at the faces and the clothing, very inappropriate. My daughter is 2, so she is not in the Barbie phase yet, but I have a 5 year old niece, and her mother will only let her play with certain Barbies.

My daughter is 11, she is a little old for dolls now but when she was a little younger, I would not allow her to have Bratz. They represent HOOD RATS. Barbie was okay as long as it had an educational purpose. Some barbies teach family life and proper care of yourself. It really has nothing to do with how you look. I always showered my daughter with compliments so she already has a big ego. She never thought that she had to be like barbie.

My daughter had Barbie's.
She wanted Bratz but I wouldn't allow them.
For me, after seeing an ugly Bratz doll, Barbie suddenly seemed very normal and a better role model.

Neither one is great, but I'd go with Barbie. Those Bratz dolls are not coming in my house.

Barbie maybe but definitely not Bratz. They are like little hoochie dolls. They set a terrible example.

well on day i was in a store and there where 2 girls playing with some Bratz dolls they where talking dolls and they said things like
"do you like to read magazines and hear about all the latest celebrity news?"
"I like shopping and keeping up with the latest trends"
I am sorry but if i wanted my kids to grow up to be like Paris Hilton and all of the other holly wood train wracks then maybe that's what i would buy for my kids
as for Barbie's at least most of them don't talk and require girls to use there imaginations

I do not allow Maya to play with Bratz at all. It is hard enough to raise your child with good values, I do not need dolls that teach that it is cute to be a brat, or that my child should aim to be a celebrity (or at least to know all the gossip).
I do allow her to play with barbie. But we mostly get the pet ones and the ones with the babies and the different professions.

for godsake its a doll. my daughter has bratz dolls. she likes brushing their hair and dressing them up. she doesnt want to dress like a bratz doll they are a toy not her idols. just let kids be kids and play with dolls. why teach kids to be dumb blondes with big boobs and no waist!!

i cant believe all these answers - i wont allow her to have one! OMG! If and when my daughter wants one she can have whatever she chooses. Its up to the parents to set the example and be a role model. They shouldnt be worried that a doll is going to influence their behaviour
