They hide at the bottom, thats why when you open the bottle they all rush like mad in a big race to get out all at once. :-)

It's to do with pressure. A fizzy drink has Carbon Dioxide put in it. When the bottle is sealed the pressure keeps the Carbon Dioxide molecules compressed within the drink so you cannot see them. When you open the bottle the pressure is released, the Carbon Dioxide expand and rise to the surface to be released into the atmosphere.
