Not a good idea to mess with registry or create registry scripts unless you are an expert and know what you are doing.

Don't sound like a good plan to me. The registry contains a great deal more technical instructions than an autoexec file. In fact, the autoexec is a user-modifiable file that is more application-oriented, whereas the registry gets deeper into the device and software handling stuff.

Bottom line: They are separate because they were meant to be.
