at school, we have microsoft 2007. i wrote an essay, and saved it to a usb memory port thing. i took it home, and tried to open the document (only to read it) but nothing happens... my friend converted it but shes on holiday at the moment... how can i open my document saved as microsoft 2007 into microsoft 2000?

You can try the compatibility pack from Microsoft:

In the future, you may want to make sure that you export your files in Word 2000 format "just in case."

I know Word/Office 2003 has a Microsoft support module to open 2007 documents, but not version 2000.

On your school computer, when saving, choose SAVE-AS and save it in Word 2000 format, this will make the document portable enough for your home PC

Hi,

You should be able to right click on the file and choose "save as" and in the bottom drop down box "files of type" choose the Word program that you have.
