Marrying the wives of adopted sons? It is important that Muslims can marry the divorced wives of adopted sons [Sura 33:37], yet it is forbidden to adopt sons [Sura 33:4-5]
Can angels disobey? No angel is arrogant, they all obey Allah [16:49-50], but: "And behold, we said to the ANGELS: 'Bow down to Adam'. And THEY bowed down, EXCEPT Iblis. He refused and was haughty." [2:34].
Are angels protectors? "NO protector besides Allah" [2:107, 29:22]. But in Sura 41:31 the angels themselves say: "We are your protectors in this life and the Hereafter." And also in other suras is their role described as guarding [13:11, 50:17-18] and protecting [82:10].
Wine: Good or bad? Strong drink and... are only an infamy of Satan's handiwork. [5:90, also 2:219]. Yet on the other hand in Paradise are rivers of wine [47:15, also 83:22,25]. How does Satan's handiwork get into Paradise?

Marrying EX-wife of adopted son is permitted not important. It is not forbidden to adopt sons, but they have to remain under the name of their biological father. You get a great reward from God by raising a child that is not yours.
Iblis is not an angel he was a Jinn and is now referred to as Satan. He was the leader of Angels before he disobeyed God.
Angels have missions and among them is to protect the believers as ordered by God, so God is the protector and they are the means. However the closer explanation/translation of this verse is not protectors but rather close companions/friends.
The rivers of wine in paradise have the same name but different in nature. They taste differently and don't get you drunk.

1. the wives of adopted sons relates to a specific situation in which Muhammad was aked to marry his adopted son's divorced wife. he prayed about it and recieved that revelation...so it relates to a specific point in time and to the prophet...part of the historical narrative and not a law handed down to the community.
It isn't forbidden to adopt sons, but the verse states that when you adopt them they can never be your literal sons. Muhammad himself had an adopted son which I just mentioned, and many muslims around the world have adopted children. The reason this was added to the previous verse was to explain to Muhammad why he could marry his adopted son's ex (because he wasn't a biological son).
2. The islamic view is that angels cannot disobey God, and Iblis was not an angel in islamic thought but a third entity of creation known as a jinn. Jinn are not genies, but entities of free will living in another plane of existence. They are not demons either, simply entities of another place that isn't in our reality. When iblis fell, him along with his followers were labeled Shaytaan, and it is believed that they sometimes cross the plane into our reality to tempt us into sin.
3. Angels are here to do the bidding of God, and in islam they don't have the role of protectors, UNLESS they are ordered by God to protect. In this case, however, God is the protector and the angel is the medium through which he protects. This premise is no different from traditional views of the guardian angel, since people tend to thank God for the angel's protection and not the angel itself.
4. This is a translation error. The rivers in paradise will flow with fruit juice. Commentary on the verse as well as understanding at the time of revelation was that this would not get you drunk. Most likely this is grape juice, as it carried the name similar to wine. The original translation had no vowels, so when the Quran is translated there are many different interpretations of what lines actually mean.
There is a specific hadith that explains the muslim view of heaven. I'm not sure what the hadith number is but I'm pretty sure if you search bukhari for "paradise" you'll find it.

i agree with spider j. about all the points he made and the one thing i want to add is about the adopted son.....in islam , it's clear that a child has the RIGHT to know where he came from and it's an act of worship, an honor,a blessing to adopt a child, but the rules are more about keeping his last name of his father and not the adopted fathers name. This way you'll know your lineage and when the adopted son will have his children they'll know as well and so on.....It might not seem important maybe , but their is great wisdom behind it. Imagine if you took on your adopted fathers name and yrs down the line you accidentally run into your bilogical sister whom you don't know for whatever reason, and you propose marriage to her( it might nto seem possible today but maybe in smaller communities back then) ........ i respect you for taking the time to try and have a better understanding of our religion and seeking knowledge is bettter than praying for 70 ys .............. there was a great man named Ahmed deedat who passed away few yrs back and he was just great at giving facts about verses and doing a run down between christianty and islam without being biased . I highly recommend googling him or go to thedeenshow.com and hear videos that aren't too long about all the topics you asked .

You miss understood the meaning of the sooras in arabic they are soo clear because arabic has more word terms then english anyway to be sure you can ask a shiekh or a religious muslim who can tell you exactly about these contradictions. Since it has something to due with gramer in arabic and translation it is to complex to talk about it here.
Iblis was not an angel he is satan, angels are created from light"noor" while iblis from fire "nar"

Wine bad. Angels not protectors but souls that watch over your actions---Allah is the only one who can do something, angels are messengers there is one on your right and one on your left shoulder. Muslims are amazing and the whole world should be Muslim.

Good questions, very good questions. I'd like to see how they squirm out of these myself. Trust me, they will, or just ignore you. One point you need to remember, as much as Christians do it, so do the Muslims, "preacher said" carries the same authority as God, and is not to be questioned. You must have dreamed these things up to cause a problem. Be quiet infidel or Allah will get you, might very well be a line of reply for your questions. Watch out for an effort to twist the points of your questions into something else, they tend to do that as well. There is also just good old fashioned denial.
