Light meals plus exercise.
Start by walking 20 minutes, drink a glass of water, walk back 20 minutes, take another glass of water. Walk in the morning, then walk again at night. Increase you walk times. No equipment is required. If you are not moving, you are not loosing weight. Simple.

Oh ffs. I am getting tired of repeating myself on here, but feel I have to to counteract all the 'fad diet' idiocy that is around.
Okay, there is only ONE way to lose weight healthily.
Eat more healthily, do more excercise. Simple.
The current reccomended eating plan (by doctors and nutritionists, not womens magazines) is four or five small to medium meals a day.
Each meal (with the exception of maybe breakfast) should contain all of these ingredients to a greater or lesser degree: Carbohydrates (rice, pasta, spuds, etc.) Protien (chicken, fish, etc.) Vitamins and minerals (fresh fruit and veg).
It is not hard to come up with a thousand different meals with each of these ingredients, from simple English sunday roast, to Chinese or Italian.
It is possible to still have a pizza or a takeaway, just limit it to maybe once a week or fortnight.
Second is excercise.
Cardio excercise is the most important here, (running, swimming, cycling, etc); not only will it make you healthier (decrease your resting heart rate, increase your lung function, etc) it will also burn off a lot of calories.
Weight training is also important. You don't have to bulk up like arnie, basically stick to light weights and do lots of reps with your major muscle groups, and this will 'tone up' your muscles without building bulk. You also need to do free training, as in sit ups, lunges, etc. Also as your muscles get used more, your metabolism increases, which helps you naturally burn more cals.
This is plain, simple advice, not exactly rocket science, yet noone ever seems to get it? Why?

i lost over half a stone in 2 weeks with slimming world, so that works well as long as you stick to it.
i wouldnt go losing weight just to impress your friend though, weight loss should be for you and noone else.
however a calorie controlled diet is also a good way to go, it takes your body to burn of 3000 calories to lose 1lb in weight. so if you limit your food to 1500 calories a day, you should lose 2-3lbs a week. which is the maximum you should really aim for as otherwise it will all pile back on

hi the faster you lose weight the faster you will put it back on, the best way to lose weight is to cut out your fats, ie, butters, dressings, bickies, chocolate, pastries, chips, crisps, etc, keep to a low fat diet ie, fish, chicken, pork, lean cuts of red meat but not to much red meat say just once a week, plenty of veg and salads, low calorie dressings, excercise every day long walks at fast pace so you can feel your heart beating thats when you know its working, try to go to the gym and do a work out light weights at first then build up, because muscle burns calories, also swimming is very good calorie burner too.remember slowly keeps it off, good luck

You are wrong, you should choose a certain amount or you may end up addicted to weight loss (balemia, anorexia)
Whatever you eat, make the meals small and spread them over the day. Dont eat carbohydrates after lunchtime and get plenty of exercise.

Well, I was never what you would call obese, but I had serious trouble trying to get rid of my fat gut. I spent months trying to cut through all the hype, gimmicks, and gadgets and finally found a program that does just that. You might call it the "no cardio" program....very fast and effective. Check it out http://absfacts.com/main/

You can loose ten pounds of ugly fat in seconds, by simply cutting off your head, the blood and fluids that seep out of your severed neck will take a few more pounds over the next 20 minutes.
Most other rapid weight loss methods have some form of long term damage to the body, physical and mental, but this is the fastest method, and guaranteed to not have any long term problems (sic) - just one massive immediate one, you die!
