Smoking is bad. Bad for the heart, gums and teeth, makes your breath smell too, not good for the lungs either (more likely to get lung cancer if your a smoker). Gives you a nasty cough. Gives you lots of wrinkles in the face, you end up looking like an old dried prune), adds years on to your age, that's if you manage to live to an old age.
The occasional drink is OK, but only in moderation. Try sticking to red wine. Otherwise too much it affects the liver, causing liver problems related to drinking, can also affect the pancreas, heart and brain. Drinking too much can cause alcohol poisoning which can kill a person. Gives you high blood pressure and drinking too much gives you a big belly.
Smoking seems has no benefits at all.
Whilst the occasional glass of wine seems to be beneficial, high levels of alcohol intake, particularly binge drinking, can increase the risk of coronary heart disease.

Actually both are as bad as each other, but I would say drinking is better, because as long as you drink in moderation, then there are no real problems for your health. There is no such rule in smoking.
But basically both of these lifestyle issues, along with obesity, bad diet and little or no excercise are either directly responsible for or directly impact on at least 95% of the cases I see in hospital.
Think about it.

depends on you. if you are an active person then id say smoking as it ruins your lungs. if you use your mind alot then drinking as it kills brain cells. both smoking and drinking will ruin your skin and health though.
if you are looking to give only one up id say stop drinking. this way you will be sober and realise how many cigarettes youve smoked and how you are feling. if you drink instead you are likely to get very drunk and start smoking.
try cutting them both down, or doing one one night and another the next

As a non smoker and non drinker , but respectfull of the rights of others to smoke and drink i believe that moderation is the key to everything in life. I am not going to judge you or anyone else but i prefer a smoker and a drinker to a cheater or lier....or for that matter a dead beat that does not take care of his family. So if you must smoke do it with moderation and if you must drink do it with moderation and try, at least the last one not to get into the habit of doing it every day....good luck

A friend of mine had a massive heart attack. he was in his late 30s at the time. the doctor told him to quit all the bad vices he had. My friend asked the doctor, if he were to keep one...smoking or drinking...what would he recomend, and the docotr told him smoking!! he said the alcohol affected the blood vessels. And, we all know somoking affects the lungs. So, there is no better choice in my opinion!

Both are good for health. Drinking without smoking is no fun. Any thing done with one's consent and liking is good for health. Cheers.

They both are bad and will kill you eventually. But, I think that smoking will take longer so it's better for health, if you see what I mean.
Incidentally, watching someone die from cancer caused by smoking is a dreadful experience.

This is what I think......Drinking is a curse, It will change your character and make you violent and evil. Obesity is not good either. You will see an early grave. Smoking can cause cancer and other things but if you keep relatively fit and have a good diet it is not as harmful as the others. Only my opinion.

Well, if you smoke too much there is no guarantee it will shorten your life. If you drink too much however you will get liver trouble and die, without a doubt.
