We read that the size of the Portuguese Police team dealing with the McCann case has shrunk from 200 down to 3. With a drastic winding down of resources, does it mean that Kate and Gerry have got away with it, Madeleine will remain missing and apart from Kate Gerry no one will ever what happened to her ?

If one of my children went missing i for one would not leave the holiday resort in fact i would be looking for them until i dropped down dead with exhaustion.
why because i love them so much
Mind you i would have not let my children with out an adult remain in an apartment on their own.

Helen S said: "Yes, immediately. If they don't do it soon the family will be entitled to go to the European Court of Justice and will make the Portuguese look even more stupid and shambolic than they already do." If that is the case, why hasn't Clarence Mitchell said so? I reckon because the European Court of Justice will take the Portuguese side, and he darn well knows it! For those that say "innocent until proven guilty" is justification for removing arguido status, the onus on the McCanns is to prove that they are innocent by answering the questions required of the investigators. If that results in them being prosecuted, they and their lawyers will have the opportunity to refute any accusations. If they are unhappy with the verdict they can then appeal to the European Court of Justice if they feel that they have been wrongly treated. The fact is, arguido status is preventing the McCanns from travelling to the USA. This is the last thing that should be on their minds given the current circumstances.

To have "got away with it", they would have to have done it. This has not been proven. Talking about it as though it has been does not alter that fact.

A better way of putting it would be that if the investigation winds down the perpetrator has got away with it and Madeleine might never be found as a result, whether she is dead or alive.

That would be a tragedy, I'm sure you would agree.

Its laughable that anyone would base a question on an absolute rag like the Telegraph and worse choose to believe the dribble as actual fact.

That is sad news for Madeleine!

Serial child negect!
Read this from an expert
Scenario:You go out for dinner in a hotel complex on holiday abroad, leaving a child aged 3 and twins aged 18 months in a locked room. You return to check on them every half hour.

If the parents have taken all the risks into account and decided that it is safe to leave the children, this would probably be reasonable. If the children were awake or a bit older and able to wander around, or potentially even to open the door to an intruder, perhaps not. But asleep, with the door locked and people constantly checking up on them, it is likely to be reasonable.

You should be checking on them very regularly. I don’t think it’s any less safe in Continental Europe than it is here. Leaving children alone in this manner is not desirable, but parents have to balance the demands of life and will probably have to consider such issues regularly.

A parent needs to ensure that children are safe if they are left alone. Leaving them for a short while, asleep, in a locked room with regular checks is acceptable. Leaving them for two hours, or with unlocked doors, is not.

i think you find, a lot of people dont give a dam, about the mccann parents, the one and only intrest, is maddie, and the twins, should you not, be more intrested in the question, what is happening to the twins, are they being left alone, why the parents, are out on the lash

You actually sound disappointed that the McCanns haven't been charged with anything?

If there was any evidence to suggest that the McCanns were involved then charges would have been brought against them.

I hope the search for Madeleine will continue, but even in the UK there would be a winding down if all the leads were followed up and the investigation was drawing a blank....with luck the McCanns will be able to keep Madeleine high profile enough for new leads to come in....if and when new leads occur there will be more investigators re-assigned to the investigation.

Have they got away with it?
No, because unless Madeleine turns up alive many people are repulsed by the McCanns behaviour by dint of their child neglect alone.
They have never had the guts and humility to promote their behaviour as a warning of what NOT TO DO.
Quite the contrary, they are determined hey did nothing wrong and that is why nothing else matters to those of us who have sentience.

Seems like the full story might never come out.

It takes 200 people to search for a child but only three to conduct research into how she died. I'd say the opposite of it meaning that Kate and Gerry have got away with it.
