Hi,

Your internet network should have Parental Controls where you can block them from seeing things they shouldn't be viewing.

Also be a good idea to put the computer in the living room where people generally are as they won't feel the need to explore such sights with others around them and you can keep an eye on it.

It not just images you need to be worried about but chatrooms too as many kids will feel they talking to some other kid and end up giving personal details. Not realising they being groomed.

Also have a look at http://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/

This will give more advice on how to keep your kids safe whilst they on the internet.

Good luck!

Hiding stuff is not nec such a good thing.

In Holland they are very open about sexual matters and consequently have virtually no teen pregnancies.

If a kid is interested in explosives work experience and mentoring in a fireworks company shows them how to pursue the interests safely and responsibily.

They will come accross porn eventually better then know what it is 9ie humand in ready to mate poses or mating which is fun and stimulating for grown ups to see.

but kids find gross and wierd so it is there... but you are not readdy for it yet.

Better if you want to find out you can discuss with parents.kinda thing.

I would be more aginst glorification of violence and bullying and bad drugs like in rap culture. Thats more dangerous

Or overt relgious cults like right wing chrisitintity or islam

But its chat rooms that are the main problem.

Ie Im also 11 would you like to meet at my secret spto in the woods dont tell anyone

That kind of thing is serious and what you should be concenred with.

Not some nudity as The Dutch and scandanavians have shown when its all in open people are not so embarrassed, discuss things inc feelings relatioships and contrception...

And less ruined lives.

Likewise if they know about sex and accidently see you parents they just know oh thats mum and dad making love in a funny way. Its just like serious kissing. means mum and dad love each other.

not dady is trying to murder and hurt mum

Our school gives every 7,8,9,10,11,and 12 grader thier own laptop for school use... so My school put up some mega blocker, and it blocks everything, that isn't educational... it blocked all search engins aside from google!!!!!!!! And it blocked looking up sharks on google... it kicks you off if it blocks something and reports it to the office... my whole class got knocked off and even the teacher... so if you are really worried... get that blocker...

Personally I think the idea of parental blocks past age sixteen is ridicilous.

Do you honestly think that porn is going to harm your child? Five bucks says your husband has a secret stash. I really don't believe you have a right to censor things like this.

But that's america for you, going down the gutter with constitutional rights.

Give it ten years and parents can legally put dog collars and leashes on their kids.

You can use parental controls,
it gives you the options of what internet setting to set and it only can be changed on your site not theirs.
You can also be sent reports on what sites your children have been on.
