You see I have moved to a different location and with movers picking my stuff up the XP CD has disappeared. Bad timing because when I hooked up my PC my wife was no longer able to utilize the multi language typing. So I had to borrow a XP CD from a friend. Now leaving me without sound. Help please!!!!!!!

The sound card driver is not in the XP CD. It is usually in a separate CD containing the whole set of drivers. If gone, download a copy of the driver from the website of your PC maker.

go the the website of the manufacturer of your sound card. if it is built in the motherboard then go to the site of the board's manufacturer and download the drivers from there.

goodluck.
