I generally support GWB, but I'm not sure I consider him great.

Well I think GWB is one of the biggest problems for this country because of his divisive way of governing while depending on divisive followers to help keep him in power.

Here is something I wrote in another thread, it is just as applicable.

==============

First, go to http://www.china.org.cn

Next, find their one and five year plans

Next, realize they went from an economic has-been 20 years ago to world class by planning.

Next, also realize through planning they have made their people more inclusive, given them more freedom then anytime in their history.

Next, understand that they learn from their mistakes and are not likely to repeat them.

Realize, ask any American what America's plans for the future is and you'll get a deer in the headlights stare. Ask any Chinese and they'll point to their one and five year plans that anyone can see, including you and me. The only plan I know of with the USA is Cheney's energy plan and that was held in secret. I find that more then ironic.

Realize, that all business must have a business plan.

Realize, that America for decades was the only game in town. They did not have too plan.

Realize, that globalization has leveled the playing field, yet America still believes in the old concepts and has no idea where it is going.

Realize, that not only is this counter productive to America, but is criminal to our children's future.

Therefore, the biggest problem the new President will have is putting together a plan for the future that half the people won't hate and the other half wondering if we can do better.

In conclusion, I don't have much faith in America because it has gone from a positive country to one of negativeness and divisiveness that I have never seen in my 56 years on this planet, and that includes during Nam.

Who is to blame? Several factors. Our tabloid way of reporting the news to smear radio on both the left and right that has all helped reduce us to hating each other.

Signed, an ex pat from the USA that lives in the heart of China, that see's China as a positive role model for the USA. That is, as long as we get rid of our arrogance and egotism. We could learn a lot from this very old and wise country --------- but we won't. We'll just keep up the divisive politics till we'll hate ourselves into partisan oblivion.

Peace

Jim

I would be happy with a bureaucrat. Grand Ideas, and Presidents that think they can change the world are dangerous. I just want someone who can make the ordinary things that governments do, done right. America's future depends on the people not the politicians.

When the majority of voters vote for Tom Tancredo. They want bureaucrats instead, however. Fred Thompson and Rudy giuliani, Hillary Clinton, etc etc until the world ends.

That's why we need term limits for all politicians.

Greatness comes with adversity and how well it's faced up to.
GWB has NOT had it easy and mistakes have been made as in every presidency. He has shown courage ,fortitude and some common sense.
History will look favorably upon him.

Not that I see. I don't blame our elected officials as much as I blame voters. We are apathetic in this country. As long as things don't upset our apple cart we don't care. We don't care about our neighbors, our children or our environment. If we did we would be doing something about our dependence on oil, our massive debt we are handing our kids and we wouldn't see homeless people all over this country. As long as we allow our elected officials to be thieves, they will steal and dirty deal us in the effort to get more for themselves.
