If the grammar & spelling in this answers forum is anything to go by, then yes, the "yoof" of today cannot write properly, fully agree on that one.
Some yoof apparently cannot start ANY question without using the words "OKAY, there's this boy/girl...." or "OKAY, I've got a problem.."
I give up.

Well dear, that is what is so Kool bout english it is adaptable.
F*g as you put it only means cig in certian circles.
Take for example, Square, square can be a shape, someone w/no cool in them, or a cig.
I will agree many Americans cannot spell, but what is more disturbing than the spelling is the lack of Humanity we got going on here. If a person is so wrapped in themselves it is all about me, why would they bother to create understandable text, that isn't about them.

Why be so offencive to the American language. The French and the Germans and the Scandinavians could say the same about the UK as our English is derived from those languages but we have changed them to suit ourselves. So many people cannot even construct a sentence without using the F word or putting BASICALLY in front of it. People in glass houses should not throw stones.

We are a different country with so many different cultures that we tend to let things get a little mixed up. I'm an American and my boyfriend is English. Where I say "the hood of the car" he says "bonnet" or I might say "trunk" he says "boot". Check or cheque, color or colour, it doesn't matter. Americans were all something else be it, English, Irish, German, or whatever. We just adapted things over time. We are Americans not British. I guess we just want to be different. If you want to get technical a f*g is really a bundle of sticks.

In America f*g means gay. In Britain f*g mean cigarette.
This has nothing to do with spelling! Its just one word with two different meanings, in two different counties. If you go to the United States and say the word f*g.. no ones going to think cig.
Aaarghhh!!! You are soo ignorant! Do you not understand that different countries have different meanings and spellings for the same words? Okay, I grew up learning to spell "colour", but I recently moved the US and learned that they spell it "color". Well so now, I spell it color. Its called adapting to different cultures!!!!!!! If you come to the United States, everyones gonna say "bloody hell take out that damn U".

As a rule, I normally would agree with you,
but when you throw the word
American
into the soup, this can only mean one thing:
You are not from the good old USA.
By the way,
my dear, it seems that where ever
you are from, punctuation was definitely,
not your forte.
Because the word is not "cant",
it can be "cannot"
or
it may be "can't"
&
to whom are you referring to
when you state"our" words...
perhaps a copyright infringement.
Please also notice, dear friends,
that I chose not to put a
question mark in this answer,
because I do not wish for it to be deleted.

I'm not exactly sure of the point you're trying to get across here but I assure you that I can spell just fine and I'm an American. It actually bugs me when I see mispelled words.

Like it's totally called slang. It's like how in England a fag is a cigarette and in the States it is a reference to a homosexual man. Crazy that like it's original definition is a small bundle of twigs. ;) (Just joking... using sarcasm to make a point... don't take it personally)
