I know I certainly would....I tried, but failed to change it to a more, lets say, an appropiate age for me...then I thought, no, leave as it is..you never know, I might get to look like that again....in my dreams, LOL

What lovely people I have seen in this section, I haven't been a member of YA for long and was begining to think I wouldn't bother with it for much longer as there are so many nasty and vindictive people on it and I have never come into contact such people in my life, I am not that naive to think they don't exist, it's just I dont really need all their negativity and nastiness in my life......that was until I came across this section, and you are all lovely....thank you

lol denise. Now just look at my avatar. As a 57 year old grandma I don't think I'll ever want to look like that. It's just for fun cos I don't want my mind to grow old any quicker than it has too.
I would never put my photo up either. omg have you seen some of the things I've said on here. Just imagine one of my neighbours seeing it! I'd be so embarrassed after what I've said! They'll never suspect that the avatar with purple hair and Pat Butcher earrings is me, would they? lol x

Ha! I see the answers to this are about equally split.
I won't post a picture of me on here "as I am" either, because it would scare too many people away. I HATE the way I photograph.
And I have been trying to get Yahoo to supply wrinkles for us oldsters to place (or not) on our avatars, but they are just not taking the requests seriously! It wouldn't be hard for them to do either. A matter of having a skilled code writer "tweak" an already existing code to supply this to us.
As to looking like their avatars...sure! But I don't live in a fantasy land, so I guess I will just have to accept ME, and get on with living.

To make your avatar look like the REAL you must use a photograph as I did for mine.
Stop hiding and come out, show the world that you are not shy or self conscious that you have aged.
I can understand children hiding behind an avatar but NOT Senior Citizens.

I tried to make my avatar look like me based on what I had to work with. The hair is close and so is the face shape. I wish I knew how to put a real picture too!

I chose mine because I have an outfit like that. Other than the age ...I do look older, and have grey, thinning hair, it is close. I have a couple of pix floating around the 360 page. I wasn't able to get grey hair on my avatar, and haven't tried to change lately.

I made my avatar as close as possible, clothes and hair and body shape, but I sometimes swap it with one of my 360 pics, thankfully people know its still me. At the moment though I am stuck with this pic even though that's not the one I have set up for use. I wish yahoo would get this problem sorted.

My hair is the same and it sort of looks like me but no wrinkles . I've been blessed in that I've inherited my grammas English complexion . I don't wear makeup but always have pinky cheeks. Now if I could just get rid if my neck.............
