The first thing you have to do is get training. Find some acting classes, voice lessons and dance classes to get into. Then try getting into some theatrical productions.
You do have to be careful about online sites, but just because they charge a fee doesn't mean they're not reputable. I don't know what area you're in, but I highly reccommend backstage.com and actorsaccess.com. Backstage is from what was originally Dramalogue back in the day and became Backstage a few years ago. It's been an industry standard for actors for as long as i can remember and is highly reputable. Actors have gotten legit casting info from them for ages. They do charge a subscription fee and it's not cheap, however you can search online for free first tosee if there's even anything in your area and second if you can see enough info in the free part, you may be able to find the rest on your own but it will take work. Is it worth it, it's up to you to decide that. For theatre it's relatively easy since most theatre do post audition info on their own sites and usually you can see the theatre name in the free info. For tv and film not so much and usually those aren't great auditions anyway. You may be better off with ActorsAccess.com which comes from the people at Breakdown Services which is the casting service that every legit agent in Hollywood uses on a daily basis to see what's out there for thier clients. He reason you can sign up and see audition info for free? It has ads laced in with th auditions and of course you will not see everything that legit agents will. It's watered down, but the auditions are legit and some are for bigtime shows. You may luck out if the show is looking for something really unique and you happen to fit the bill (a 5' african american who knows kung fu and plays the drums or asian 16 year old identical twins) When big name shows are looking for something really unique, I have seen them look on AA. It's free to set up an account and it's free to search for auditions. It costs when you want to submit electronically for an audition. If the production wants a hardcopy instead then you don't pay, you send the headshot and resume on your own through the mail. Also, if you subscribe to Showfax (another industry standard service for actors) then you can submit all you want as long as you have that. It's about $68 per year and it's a sides service so when an audition has sides available through Showfax then you can get them via fax or email so you can prepare for the audition without having to drive all over town picking up your script pages.
If you're under age you need your parents permission and support and make sure you have the work permit covered and you know all the labor law rules.
good luck

Sorry, sweetie, there's no such thing. The old saying is always right: if it's too good to be true, it probably IS. Don't keep butting your head against this wall, because all you'll get is a headache...and an empty purse. Becoming an actress is not a deal where you can get "freebies" and cut corners. Not unless you want to be a bad actress, or one who doesn't get much farther than local commercials here and there, and films nobody will ever see.
Pick up a copy of a terrific book called HOW TO SELL YOURSELF AS AN ACTOR by K Callan. (She also wrote one called SO YOU WANNA BE AN ACTOR? It's harder to find, but worth seeking out.)
Everything you need to know, both the good and bad stuff, is in that book. And reading that, you'll also get recommendations for several other books that tell you more about what you SHOULD be looking for, both online and off-.

Stay off the Internet. It is the right place for scams. Goggle acting schools to find out what their criteria is for being accepted into an acting school. Many, many actors and actresses started their way to a career by learning the methodology of acting. I agree that right now you should join your drama club or if the community has a little theater, go watch the people who act in it. Perhaps you could try out for a small part and work your way up the ladder.
Good Luck!

the whole idea of your question is a scam. where did you get the idea that there is a web site that can make you an actress? there never has been one and there never will be one. you only become an actress through years of hard work, being in plays, taking classes, reading, constantly looking for more opportunities. no magic way to get there unless you have a famous relative.

I agree, do not use websites.
Any GOOD, legit agent will not make you pay anything! They take a bit out of your pay when you get a job. Just say you earnt $100 for a commercial they may take $15-20 out.
You do sound young so make sure you have a parent/gaurdian with you if you go for interviews, they can also help you research for some agents etc.
Also rarely agents take untrained or unexperienced people, so make sure you have some experience, and keep updating your resume. There are plenty of different things you can do for experience..but I am not going to go into that because you may have some already.
I hoped this helped..x

Seek out a legitimate agent and opportunities in your area. Classes and local theatre will help you learn some of the ropes. You are correct in distrusting casting websites. Also, you NEVER pay an agent, they only take a commission after you've booked a job.

I would suggest not using the websites. You sound pretty young. Maybe you should wait until you're a little older. If you're still in school, be in the school play, take drama class, etc.
