I've had this yeast infection for about a month now. I am a guy. I have never had sex in my life and I don't have diabetes (been tested / good health / 21 years old). By my doctor - I've been on ketocona cream for about two weeks, and now I've been put on Clotrimazole cream and if it doesn't clear up in about a week and a half I have to go back. So far it doesn't look like it is doing anything. This is really embarrasing because someday I am going to have to have sex to have kids and I do not want this yeast to be here because it's embarrasing and I am scared it's going to kill me or something I just want it gone! The doctor has told me it is due to the heat and humid weather..what else can he do if this Clotrimzaloe cream doesn't work?

They call me "Yeast Queen"maybe i can help by suggesting some things.

1st of all Yeast feeds on sugar, so lets get sugar out of the diet, no sweets.
2nd, it's not gonna kill ya, it'll irratate you but it'll not kill ya. 3rd. eat healthy ,build your immune system up.

now, lets stay dry. try wearing light clothing, maybe sleeping nude or loose pj's .

the ketocona, med is good, the terazol is good, & the gynelotrimin your on now, is good too. but now i'm trying Mycostatin powder, ( it's in my blood ) & putting it on my tongue to ingest it. it would be good to sprinkle that on you.

& also, the miconazole, has a different ingredient in it that you may respond to , than the other 2. Nystatin, is also for yeast, & diflucan,& they've got systemic meds, now, but not to worry
you're not there .....

the miconazole is over the counter, & is usually about 5.00 in generic. Put it on several times a day.
how many times did the dr. say??
Gyne-lotrimin is very safe, & i'd recommend putting it on as several times daily too.

also: acidopillus , & the heavier lactodophillus's & all the dophillus family is a great intestinal flora builder. (that means it builds the good ) & yogurt is good for ya.

have you been on antibiodics a lot?????????I tried to e-mail you.

Good luck, to ya, & let me know if this helped.

If the creams aren't working (and they usually should, though it may take a few days), then there isn't much a doctor can really do. But there are some things you can do.

Make sure you take a shower/bath every day and wash your genital area with a mild (and preferably scentless) soap like you would any other part of your body. Some strong and/or scented soaps can cause irritations and can make yeast infections worse. After you're done, make sure you dry the area with a clean towel.

Also, eat yogurt. That might sound a little weird, but it does help. There are bacteria in the yogurt that go through your digestive system and somehow find their way to the parts of your body where yeast lives. Then the bacteria kind of eat the yeast. So eating some yogurt daily can help treat/prevent yeast infections, which is pretty cool. I think you can also "soak" your penis in yogurt for a few minutes a day, and that works too; but I'd rather just eat the yogurt.

See links for some info.

The good news is, I know how to treat yeast infections. The bad news is, I only know about treating yeast infections in dogs. The usual treatment involves lots of yogurt. It has lots of beneficial biotic organisms that help overwhelm bad bacteria. Hell, at the very least, it can't hurt. But there should also be oral anti-fungal drugs your doctor can prescribe you, and bathing regularly using soap and shampoo containing ketoconazole should help. Don't worry too much though, a yeast infection can't kill you. And there's no law anywhere saying you have to have kids ;-)
