I really prefer it when names are spelled correctly. I understand people wanting to be original and all, but all the cutesy different spellings come off very trailer park and not very sophisticated, or even worse, that the parent was too dumb to know the correct spelling of the name. If you read the book "Freakonomics" written by Steven Levitt an economist, there is a whole chapter on names and what they signify and weird spellings of names are typically given by uneducated or lower class parents. Hey, don't kill the messenger, I'm just quoting from the book, but hey, it might be something to think about.

Well, both names are fine for your children.
From what I have read here most folks agree about the names just not the spelling.
I understand the reason behind spelling Aleczander this way but it still doesn't make it correct.
One can pay tribute to a dead friend with the same name spelled correctly or one can look as illiterate as Aleczander's parents by following suit .

Now is the time to stop thinking of your own wants and start remembering that you are now responsible for another human beings life and the impact you will have on them ..Starting with a name.

I like Nolan, not a huge fan of Noele but you could do a lot worse! and I understand about the 5 letter spelling. hubby, kids and I all have 5 letter names which was coincedental but if our third is a girl she will be named Zara but spelt Zarah so it fits in and everyone is going to whinge about the 'h' but who cares. Our kid our rules right?!?

Other 'n' girls name I really like and match with Nolan are
Nadia (fave!)
Naomi (2nd fave)
Nakia
Neela

or other 'matching' names are

Abbey and Anton
Amara and Asher
Jade and Jake (Jayde and Jacob)
Eliza and Elias
Aubree and Ashton / Amelia and Ashton
Jayda and Jaxon
Jasmine and Jackson
Leila and Lucas
Meagan and Marcus

Good luck and best wishes!

I think it awesome that you are honoring someone with your sons middle name!

I like Nolan and Noele but here are some other suggestions

Logan and Lexie

Nathan and Nicole

Ashton and Ashley

Really though its your babys and it only matters what YOU like. I think Nolan and Noele are awesome names so if that is what feels best to you then go for it!

I like Noele spelled Noelle. Noelle Celeste would be beautiful.

Don't like Nolan though. What about Nathan.
I really don't like the spelling Aleczander.but understand why you chose for it and I think its so nice for you to do it.

I like Nolan (Ryan), that was ALOMST my name as well as my other three siblings, but my mom wouldn't allow it. I love it though, for Noele though, I think it sound's too much the same.Maybe just Noell, Nicole, Nicolette even...?

They're both nice actually and normally I dont like those sorts of bogan names. The problem lies with the possibility your kids could grow up actually knowing how to spell and realise their name is wierd.
